School Food Service Manager

Overview:


The School Food Service Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the school cafeteria, managing food services, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for students. Responsibilities:

* Manage the daily operations of the school cafeteria, including food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision

* Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding food safety and nutrition standards

* Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of students and align with school policies

* Supervise and train food service staff, including hiring, scheduling, and evaluating performance

* Maintain a clean and safe environment in the cafeteria, including kitchen, dining area, and storage facilities

* Manage food budgets and ordering, ensuring efficient use of resources

* Collaborate with school administrators and other departments to ensure seamless integration with school programs and events

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Completed Manager Certification Training with the State Department of Education, Division of Nutrition Support; OR Dietary Manager Training (or willingness to complete within the first year of employment)

* Serve Safe Certification

* Management experience preferred, but not mandatory

* Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance and stand for long periods
