Police Officer Trainee

Overview:


The City of Wichita is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our police force as Police Officer Trainees. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a certified police officer.
Responsibilities:

* Complete the Police Recruit Training Program, which includes physical training, academic coursework, and scenario-based training

* Gradually assume law enforcement responsibilities under the supervision of experienced police officers

* Develop skills in areas such as patrol procedures, crisis intervention, and community policing

* Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the law and protecting the community

Qualifications:

* Must be at least 21 years old and a high school graduate or equivalent

* Must have a valid driver's license

* Must be a U.S. citizen

* Must be willing to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

* Must pass a background investigation and drug screening
