RESPONSIBILITIES: The Supervisor/Team Lead provides direct supervision and oversight to Family Development Specialists. The role involves supervising and developing staff, coordinating staff tasks, handling emergencies, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The Supervisor/Team Lead will be responsible for a regional team of Family Development Specialists. They will review and edit home studies to ensure professionalism in writing and compliance to all requirements and will work to develop staff skills as needed. The Supervisor/Team Lead plays a key role in staff training and support, family support, and ensuring a high standard of service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, plus one to two years of related experience in a human services field.
Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Worker Associate (or the ability to be licensed) through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners.
Previous experience with supervision and management preferred.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.
Requires a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.

A Day in the life of a Residential Supervisor at Summit Oaks:
Provide direction, evaluation, and support to residential staff.
Ensure physical intervention for residents and staff protection if necessary.
Transport residents as needed and maintain health and safety standards.
Attend in-service trainings, staff meetings, and supervisor meetings.
Cover on-call duties as assigned.
Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field preferred; or two years of postsecondary education (minimum of 60 semester credits) and one year of experience working with children; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
This position requires successful completion of Safe Crisis Management training.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Placement Support Specialist provides support and guidance to families licensed as foster or kinship families by the Department of Social Services (DSS). The Specialist works directly with families who are providing care to youth in their home or are waiting to provide care. They will manage required paperwork throughout the licensure renewal process, complete background checks as needed, connect families to training, assist with placement matching and support, and complete the family renewal home study. The Specialist will be the point of contact that offers ongoing support for families through their licensed time with DSS. Their primary goal is to support foster and kinship families to ensure safe, stable placements for children in the custody of DSS. The Placement Coordinator plays a critical role in carrying out the LSS mission.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in social work or similar field, plus one to two years of related experience in a human services field, is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Kinship and Foster Care Licensing Program Director provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations, quality standards, and strategic development of the kinship and foster care licensing program. This role ensures compliance with agency policies, state policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices while fostering a safe, supportive, and structured environment for staff, families, and partners. The Program Director provides leadership in program planning, financial management, staff development, and crisis intervention, ensuring the highest quality of care and service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work or related field, plus four years of related experience, is required.
Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Worker Associate through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners.
Previous experience supervising and managing staff, is required.
Experience developing, monitoring, and achieving budgets, preferable.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Works as part of an interdisciplinary team, conduct groups, supervise youth in community settings, and provide a positive and healthy environment through role modeling.
QUALIFICATIONS: The residential counselor position requires a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field OR 48 credit hours of post-secondary education and a minimum of 1-year experience working with children; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. The residential worker position requires a high school diploma or GED required.
