Information Classification Title Temporary Hourly Professional FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative study of eco-evolutionary responses to climate in the partridge pea, Chamaecrista fasciculata, an annual legume that grows in disturbed habitats in central and eastern North America. The technician's primary responsibilities involve establishing and maintaining a large common garden experiment (~7,000 plants) at Archbold Biological Station in Venus, Florida. This includes preparing seeds for planting, planting seeds, setting up the garden infrastructure, building open-top chambers, collecting data on traits and fitness, entering data, maintenance tasks in the garden (e.g., weeding), and processing samples in the lab. The technician will also have opportunities to collaborate with undergraduate and graduate students.
The position is for field research, conducted at a common garden site in Florida. The common garden experiment is funded by NSF and needs to occur at a field station in Florida. The entire position will be executed out of state during the growing season from March - October 2026.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
Wide variety of standard Microbiological tests, such as microbial compendia tests and test method qualifications; routine testing such as viable air sampling, surface testing, particulate monitoring, endotoxin, growth promotion, Membrane filtration, and microbial identifications according to SOPs; documentation practices in accordance cGMP; laboratory tasks such as general housekeeping, equipment monitoring and maintenance, inventory of supplies, etc.; and data analysis.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Individual must have an undergraduate degree in Biology or Microbiology (or closely related equivalent degree).
A minimum of 1 year industry experience is preferred.
This individual must have demonstrated capability to conduct microbiological tests and studies under minimal supervision.
Individual must be a team player with positive attitude
Demonstrated good aseptic technique preferred.
He/she must be proficient in MS Word and Excel and have good communication and organizational skills.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills, including conflict management.
Must have demonstrated statistical and analytical problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
The ability to interact and communicate effectively with other functional professionals (i.e. Engineering, Operations) at all levels is required.
The ability to work off-shift hours, based on business needs, is required.
Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.
Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, Adaptive, etc.).
Consistently meet required work performance targets (REs), if applicable. Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2), including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Consistently meet required Training due date targets.

Information Classification Title Temporary Technical Paraprofessional FLSA Non-Exempt UGA Job Code FTE 1.0 Minimum Qualifications We are seeking three field technicians to survey of Ruffed Grouse across North Georgia. Primary duties will be to conduct standard roadside grouse surveys, and search for grouse drumming logs to obtain samples for genetic analysis. Technicians will also be responsible for set-up, take-down, and monitoring of Automated Recording Units (ARUs). Technicians will enter data on a daily basis, and may be asked to enter acoustical sound data from the ARUs. Working hours will vary depending on distance to survey points each morning, but expect very early mornings to early/mid-afternoon work schedules. Field housing and a work vehicle will be provided. Primary Duties: 1) Perform bird point count surveys 2) Operate song meters 3) Search for grouse fecal samples 4) Enter data 5) Traveling to field sites.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
A strong work ethic and positive attitude, interest in birds and conservation, and strong observational and listening skills. Working towards or have a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology or related field. A valid driver's license and good driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Ability to navigate using a GPS and Google Maps. Ability to follow directions and work independently. Comfortable navigating off-road locations and have exceptional organizational skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience conducting forest bird surveys and working independently in the field.

Endure long workdays beginning before sunrise, drive long distances, hike through dense forests, navigate steep/uneven terrain, and work in hot, humid conditions with ticks, chiggers, poison ivy, and the occasional rattlesnake/copperhead, while sometimes carrying up to 25lbs. of field equipment.
