    Shift 2 (United States of America) Milacron is looking for a CNC Milling Machine Operator to join our team in Mt. Orab, OH. As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for the set-up and operation of machinery to produce a large assortment of metal parts or finishes often of a complex nature. In this role, you will apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, and machining procedures to produce quality parts for our plastics processing machinery out of raw material. Hours: 3p-11p. Could be overtime required. Must train 7a-3p at least 90 days. Work You'll Do: Verify correct product using job traveler. Set-up and operate a Milling machine to blueprint specifications. Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production. Monitor and ensure all fluid levels are maintained on all equipment (coolant, hydraulic flids, ETC.). Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor. Must use precision measuring tools and job specific hand tools. Read part drawing with sectional views. Lift, position, and transport work piece with a hoist. Must accurately record labor hours into E1 system. Maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance. Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments. Recommend improvements for area product and processes. Interact professionally when interacting with customers and employees. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Team: Reporting to the Group Lead, this role will be a part of the Barrel Group manufacturing/production team. Basic Qualifications: Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills, and team player Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met. Basic computer skills with the ability to perform and interpret computer functions. Blueprint reading required. Precision measuring tools required. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of related experience or training: or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED is preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: Use calipers, micrometers and other inspection equipment. Read and understand schematic and dimensional drawings. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance milling, and adjust machine as required. Inform supervisor immediately of any situations which may pose a safety hazard or may result in damage to facility, machines or tooling. Verify conformance of finished work to specifications, or seek assistance from inspection personnel to insure conformance. Operate all machines in milling dept safely and correctly. Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent milling or machining. Select new tool when needed. Measure lengths and diameter. Offset as needed. Strive to improve cycle times. Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve milling, machining or assembly problems. Complete daily work sheet and turn in at end of each workday. Maintain and do minor machine repairs, including regular preventive maintenance. Return unused and good tooling to inventory and report any shortages. Keep machine and surrounding areas clean. Keep floor oil free. Assist other co-workers as necessary. Review job description and inform supervisor of any necessary corrections or revisions. Perform self-performance evaluations as required. Observe all required safety rules and report any violations or unsafe practices or situations to supervisor or safety officer immediately. Requirements High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or 3 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Functions and Functional Job Task Elements Task 1: Operate Milling Machine · The employee is responsible for changing cutters on this machine on average 2 to 6 times per night. · Heavier cutters are only changed two times per shift. · Cutters vary in weight from 10 to 80#s-milling flats, key ways, dowel holders, etc. · The lighter cutters are located around the machine, while cutters that weigh more than 40# are in a tool room approximately 75 feet away. They are placed between floor and 27 inches off the floor on shelves. · The employee is responsible for taking the cutter from the shelf to dolly and then wheeling it over to the machine. · A jib crane can be used to lift the heavier cutters to the machine, while lighter ones are mounted by hand. · While mounting the cutter, the employee needs to stand on an 18 inch step and place the cutter sideways below waist level. A space of 20 inches is available if the employee wants to put the cutter in from the front. · The cutter then needs to be locked into place by using an Allen bolt and needs to be done from the side as well. · Can also be required to place 20# puck and push V-blocks into place. Required to tighten parts using a large wrench on an infrequent basis during the shift as well. · Must monitor machine operation carefully due to close tolerance of machine operation. Task 2: Maintain Machine and Surrounding Area · The chips on this machine need be shoveled form one side of the machine to the other at knee level. · Once the chips have been moved to the other side, they are shoveled once again into a large bin. Approximately 30-40 shovels full of chips are moved during a shift. This is split between 2-3 occasions in the entire shift. · Utilize check sheet for preventative maintenance. · Keep area clean, sweep, pick up debris, etc. · Check off paperwork associated with each job.
