The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist works with various medical practitioners such as surgeons, anesthesiologists, doctors, dentists, and podiatrists, and act as a liaison between patients of all ages and their leading care provider.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a professional nursing program and from a school of nurse anesthesia approved by the State Accrediting Agency and the Council on Accreditation of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) preferred and/or per state requirements
Active State Licensure
At least 2 years of experience as a CRNA preferred
Current CPR/ACLS/PALS if applicable

DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for primarily adult, and, as required or needed, adolescent psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, assessments, medication management, therapeutic intervention and treatment of patients of a quality expected from an expert, experienced psychiatrist.
* Perform and document a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that includes evaluation of mental status, current and past history of various behaviors, substance use, level of functioning, trauma, and social and developmental history.
* Perform and document a comprehensive physical assessment, with emphasis on the mental status and neurological exam.
* Develop a treatment plan for mental health problems and psychiatric disorders based on evidence-based standards of care, biopsychosocial theories, and current practice guidelines.
* Collaborate as a leader of the interdisciplinary mental health and other health care teams and provide mental health consultation to other team members, including the primary care team.
* Identify both typical and atypical presentations of psychiatric disorders; differentiate psychiatric presentations of medical conditions from psychiatric disorders, including substance related disorders, and arrange appropriate evaluation and follow-up of the former; diagnose psychiatric disorders and recommend treatment.
