The psychiatrist provides pharmacologic management services such that a psychiatric/mental health/medical intervention is used to reduce/stabilize and/or eliminate psychiatric symptoms with the goal of improving the functioning, including management and reduction of symptoms for the client. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Meet with clients and /or family members and other providers to complete a psychiatric/ mental health assessment.
Address psychiatric/ mental health needs identified in assessment.
Diagnose clients and treat those who have a mental illness.
Prescribe medication as necessary with consideration of allergies, substance use, current medication, medical history and physical status.
Educate individuals and family members regarding medication and its actions, effects, and side effects so that they can effectively participate in decisions concerning medication that is administered/dispensed to them.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the medication and of a wide range of therapeutic measures.
Assist individuals in obtaining prescribed psychotropic medication, when needed, and provide follow-up as needed.
Notify and assess clients for possible side effects of medication.
Consult with clinical staff at Phoenix Rising regarding care of clients in a multidisciplinary approach.
Write reports for insurance carriers as well as Social Security Administration and/or other forms as needed by the clients in a timely manner
Document and record information per policy and procedures of Phoenix Rising.
Update and use job-related knowledge.
Willingness to participate in possible research and other quality improvement projects.
Become provider for multiple insurance providers.

Has completed a residency training program in psychiatry.

Position Summary

Services may be face-to-face or by telephone. Services may be provided individually or in groups. Services are not site specific but must be in locations that meet the needs of the people served.

Reports To: Support Department Supervisor Location: Phoenix Rising, Satellite Offices, Community Wage: Negotiable Hours: Part Time Support Staff are the first representatives of the agency for clients and any other visitors. Therefore, the front desk must present a professional demeanor while they answer phones, schedule appointments for clients. Support staff must have a basic understanding of the services of the agency as well as the agency's clinical functions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet individuals as they come to the agency.
“Check-In” clients and visitors per agency procedures
Answer phones and direct phone calls to the appropriate person.
Notify clinical staff of the arrival of their next appointment.
Identify any paperwork or updates that the client needs to fill out and have the client complete the necessary paperwork. Checking alerts and following them.
Make copies of insurance cards asking if insurance./address/phone number changes since last visit.
Collect co-pays while notifying clients of any balances due.
Petty Cash responsibilities.
Obtain information for initial diagnostic assessment, verify insurance, and schedule diagnostic assessment appointments.
Schedule next appointments for psychiatrist and as needed for other staff.
Collects mail and gives to the appropriate person as well as giving messages to individuals as needed.
Opening and Closing of office
Ensures that all forms are available and makes copies of forms as needed including diagnostic assessment packets.
