As an Certified Endoscopy Technician, you will assist the RN and physician with invasive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in the GI Lab. Ensures GI Lab procedure room is adequately prepared for procedures. Monitors PAR level of all endoscopic instruments and supplies. You will be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing all endoscopes, instruments and equipment Maintains endoscopic instruments and accessories in working order and consistently recognizes malfunctions and helps troubleshoot equipment. Able to assist in the procedure room by anticipating and responding to the equipment and supply needs of the physician. Sustains a clean and safe patient care environment, implements and follows infection control procedures according to the hospital policy. Follows unit policies regarding cleaning and disinfection of equipment. Responsible to set up procedure room by selecting appropriate equipment and supplies in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of positioning to ensure safety for the patient during the procedure. Responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the perioperative patient in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). Perioperative preparation and postoperative clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members. This position reports to the supervisory medical director of the collaborating physician's office and then to the Regional Clinical Director. Under the direction of the Physician and the Regional Clinical Director, the Physician Assistant will: Assist physician in providing exceptional patient care and service Perform patient exams, history & physicals Maintain updated patient records Order and analyze test results, consult with provider to create treatment plans Administer treatments as directed by physician Complete orders and charges efficiently Serve as a trusted resource for patients, offering guidance on their ongoing care, counseling, and critical conditions JOB REQUIREMENTS Advanced Practice Professional Degree in Medicine/Osteopathy/Nursing or Physician Assistant Professional Degree Florida medical license, DEA license Minimum 3 years' experience preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to complete required office tasks (order, notes, EMR records, charges etc.) in a timely manner Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate and operate EMR system Ability to effectively manage time-expectation is for provider to begin office hours on time and to stick to the schedule throughout the day Employer strongly discourages the rescheduling of patient appointments with minimal prior notification to the office staff (i.e., less than 1-week notice) except for emergency situations.
