Summary
This position supports RDI productivity and on-time delivery goals by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies and staging finished product. Essential Functions

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 pm - 3 am
The Material Handler - Layer Picker is an essential part of our team. The Layer Picker is a sit-down forklift with a swing arm clamp pad / claw attachment. It travels on a rail system with pallets of product arranged on the other side of the rail. This provides the ability to rotate the attachment back and forth, pallet to pallet, efficiently selecting layers for pallet builds.
Safety is the number 1 priority. The main duties will rotate around the operation of the layer picker, building pallets accurately, preparing the line for optimal selecting of layers, and supporting the team member you are working with to provide top customer service. This position will also support operations with other material handling duties as assigned when there is no allocated work within the layer pick area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Safe Operation of material handling equipment including the layer picker, stand up forklifts, pallet jacks and high reach trucks.
Operating and maintaining RF Scanner (handheld warehouse computer).
Accurate and timely selecting of customers' orders.
Working on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed.
Unload trucks and validate deliveries against appropriate documentation, notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.
Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.
Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.
Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, marked accordingly to customer, transportation, and location of shipment.
Load finished goods onto trailer within specified time limit.
Perform and report cycle counts.
Follow daily operations schedule and achieve specified goals.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Performs other duties and responsibilities, as necessary.
Following set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines always.

A Brief Summary of This Position

May determine methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, flood loading capacities and required space.
Responsible to keep warehouse, tool storage and outside storage areas in an organized and orderly condition.
Performs cycle count on assigned parts, records accuracy information, investigates reasons for discrepancies, interprets data, and prepares reports using several sources of data as needed.
Makes recommendations for corrective action based on the results of discrepant part investigation.
Maintains cycle count records as required and assigned.
Generates requisitions for all expense items related to the facilities operation when applicable.
Receives all expense items for the manufacturing floor and issues to proper staging area per department as needed.
Able to complete certified training and to operate material handling equipment, forklifts, two-wheeler, overhead cranes etc.
Must know, understand, and abide by all safety rules.
Effective in ERP, Excel, Word Document, and Outlook knowledge.
Will be required to learn and rotate across all functions within material handling team.
May be requested to complete other activities as assigned.
Other Duties: Performs other work related duties as assigned by management.
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED; must have good reading, writing and math skills.
Experience Required: Knowledge of inventory control position, e.g. storeroom operator, receiving, material handler or demonstrates a working knowledge of inventory movement and transactions; general knowledge of computer ERP systems, inventory transactions and information screens; some knowledge of Excel and/or Access helpful but not required. Operation of material handling equipment required. Must have good communication skills.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:
Work requires a few simple, but rapid, hand operations; work requires some lifting and pushing/pulling of material as required to count, sort, reconcile, prepare, put away or ship parts; average weight 10 pounds, parts/boxes of materials range from >1 pound up to 65 pounds. Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs. 40ā high and up to 50 lbs. overhead on a regular basis. Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on hard cement surface and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, and squat. Must be able to read tape measure; read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating/procedure and maintenance instructions. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and work in temperature ranges corresponding with the outside ambient temperatures. Must be able to access all areas of the plant both inside and outside. Will be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, welding fumes and machine lubricants and/or oils. Must be able and willing to work with and properly use all necessary and/or required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and hard hats. 1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:15 PM (Monday - Friday) -- Starting Pay $20/Hour
3rd Shift: 9:00 PM - 5:15 AM (Sunday evening through Friday morning) --Starting Pay $22/Hour (More based on experience for loader positions)
Required Qualifications for both positions
Minimum 1-3 years of forklift experience preferred but not required.
Must be able to lift up to 101lbs at one time occasionally. Material Associates will be off forklift more than on, lifting 25-50 lbs on a regular basis. Materia Handlers will be on a forklift 90% of the time with less physical lifting required.
