What You Will Do
The Pick and Pack Associate is the heart of Farmstead, ensuring that customer orders are picked and packed accurately and on-time in our fulfillment centers. You are the last stop to ensure only the highest quality produce, dairy, meat, and grocery items arrive at their doorstep. Once packing is complete, you'll stage each order for the delivery team. Farmstead customers rely on their orders from week to week, and for many, receiving that box of fresh groceries brings feelings of joy, relief, and inspiration. The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that all materials necessary for production are available to supply production needs. This position is also responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, plastic resins, components, and finished products throughout the production floor and warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supplies the molding machines with the correct resins for the existing jobs. These resins must be properly blended and, when required, adequately dried.
Make sure that all ID cards have been filled out and put at proper locations.
Perform job changeovers as promptly as possible so that machine production time will be maximized. This task includes pre-drying and blending resins, cleaning granulators, hoppers, loaders, etc.
Maintains accurate resin lot trace records and any other records, or reports, that may be required.
Ensures that leftover resin is properly packaged, identified, and stored at the conclusion of a production run.
Performs minor maintenance on auxiliary equipment as needed to keep equipment operating properly (i.e. clean/replace dryer filters regularly, use the shortest dryer hoses that will reach from the dryers to the hoppers, etc.).
Maintains good housekeeping practice. This includes cleaning resin spills and storing equipment in an orderly manner.
Responsible for safe handling and preservation of customer products as well as customer supplied product.
Assists in insuring inventory accuracy through physical counts of existing inventory.
Communicates with the other material handler/receiving clerks regarding resin requirements, job changeover status, etc.
Follows receiving procedures to verify accuracy of receipts, ensure proper routing of receipts, and accurate completion and forwarding of all related paperwork.
Initiates requests for equipment components and major repairs to the Maintenance Department.
Performs other duties as specified by the Team Leader / Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications

Upon receipt of goods, verifying and ensuring the product received matches the product ordered as indicated on the purchase order, and verify the quantity of product received. Ensure all receiving documents are properly obtained and verified.
Inspect the product as appropriate for any food safety concerns or damage to the product, and obtain all product information.
Obtain trucker's information and make copies of the trucker's identification and freight documents.
Assist with preparing tag numbers and tags for each pallet of product received and place tag numbers on multiple locations on the pallet so the product can be easily identified to a particular shipment and supplier.
When necessary, enter the receipt of the product into the inventory management system, along with all product information required (country of original, supplier, supplier identification numbers, etc.)
