This role plays a critical part in material flow, inventory accuracy, and coordination between yard operations, processing lines, and purchasing to ensure efficient production and scheduling. Day Shift $20-$24/hour Position Responsibilities Receive and unload all inbound structural steel shapes delivered via railcars or flatbed trailers Pull structural steel shapes according to Tekla EPM pull-lists or directions provided by the Purchasing department Transport pulled material to the appropriate processing lines in a timely manner Maintain accurate job and grade markings on all materials Maintain close communication with sawyers regarding material availability and priorities Review yard activities and resolve material conflicts in coordination with the Material Processing Supervisor, Purchasing, and Director of Operations Maintain accurate physical inventory of yard materials Process and maintain paperwork for inbound steel, cut lists, and inventory transfers Organize yard materials by type, grade, and project to ensure efficiency and safety Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times Position Qualifications & Abilities Required Ability to safely operate moving equipment and overhead cranes Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities Effective time-management skills, including planning ahead to meet production demands Basic mathematical skills to accurately calculate load weights Working knowledge of ASTM A6 material standards Understanding of scheduling requirements and material flow within a production environment
