    We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic General Counsel to serve as the chief legal advisor to the property General Manager and senior management team. This role is responsible for overseeing all legal affairs, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing litigation, and mitigating risk across the property's operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive conceptual thinker with outstanding judgment and a proven track record in complex transactional law, employment matters, and litigation management. Essential Job Functions: * Advise the property General Manager and senior management on all legal matters. * Complimentary privileges within prescribed limits in accordance with the approved Comp Matrix * Responsible for effectively advising senior management as well as interfacing operationally concerning compliance with regulatory requirements. * Serve as primary legal contact for the property human resources department and provide information and advice relating to complex employment law and practices. * Oversee and maintain responsibility for the company's litigation portfolio and provide litigation support by drafting responses and position statements for all legal transactions and litigation including harassment and discrimination charges and unfair labor practices. * Negotiate and/or review commercial contracts, leases, and agreements with management concerning effectiveness and potential or actual problems. * Review and suggest updates to company policies, procedures and handbook as a means of reducing risk to the company. * Assist in the coordination of filings and other communications with certain state and federal regulatory agencies. * Select and manage outside counsel as needed, including review of invoices and authorization for payment based on approved billing standards. * Oversee the risk management department and all insurance claims and matters. * Represent the company in legal matters. * Coordinate and prepare witnesses for arbitrations and agency investigations where appropriate. * Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other complex documents. * Performs all other duties as assigned. Communicate all changes or additions with the food and beverage team. * Communicates efforts and bookings with the Management teams as to not double book restaurants. * Communicates group information to external departments and ensures the property management team and all affected departments are aware of the planning and upcoming events. * Takes all steps necessary to ensure the financial and reputational success of all sales events * Ensures flawless internal control and regulatory compliance leading to perfect internal and external department audits * Ensures that all bookings are taken accurately and are effectively communicated to the management team. * Coordinate special requests with applicable operating departments and outside vendors to ensure smooth execution and to exceed guest expectations. * Follow up with each client regarding their experience and provide feedback to the management team. * Must develop short and long term goals and is proactive in meeting goals. * Assists in taking responsibility for handling guest complaints, resolving with or without management approval. * Be willing to work weekends, nights and holidays depending on business needs. * Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if a personal accident does occur. * Perform any other job related duties as assigned Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): * Six months minimum in hotel and catering sales related positions preferred. * High School diploma or equivalent required; previous Hotel and/or Catering Sales experience preferred. * Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state. * Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s), and/or corporate clients. * Experience with professional selling skills desired: opening, probing, supporting, overcoming objections, closing. * Yield management experience preferred. * Previous experience working with CRM and/or function diary, group block inventory system, such as Delphi, is highly preferred. * Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks; strong organization and presentation skills * Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendation * Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office products and Google preferred. * Excellent comprehension and literacy required to participate in marketing plan development, client correspondence, menu planning/development, written presentations, intradepartmental communication, etc. * Manager Sales candidates should demonstrate creativity and knowledge of food and beverage, meeting room setup/seating styles, basic audio-visual equipment offerings, and room contract elements. * Outstanding organization skills are a must, as is the ability to actively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously * Must thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment * Strong desire to take accountability and have their performance measured on contribution to business results * Business intelligence, stays current and understands how what happens in the world affects us, our marketplace and our competition * Ability to remain professional in stressful situations and the ability to thrive in high pressure, fast-paced environment * Analytical prowess which includes critical thinking skills that get to the root of the problem * Problem resolution, be decisive and timely, act on information and adapt with changes * Team focused, catalyst for success of the whole team * People developer, inspire and drive employees to go beyond the expected, develop people to be their personal and professional best * Performance manager, arm employees with specific and useful performance feedback * Self-assurance, resilient and tenacious * Self-awareness, genuine understand of personal strengths and weaknesses * Environmental radar, understand how to get things done and when to involve others in decisions * Range of influence, inspire confidence, be authentic, build and leverage a powerful internal and external network * Ability to maintain confidentiality * Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process * Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays * Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
