About the role

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The SeniorScientist will independently develop and evaluate flavor systems for application and evaluation of flavors with the use of proprietary technologies in support of customers and McCormick. Additionally, this role will be the interface with customers, R&D teams, and assist in responding to specific project requests. About the role
The RD&A SeniorScientist will report to the RD&A Coatings Appetizer Manager and is responsible for product development, technical expertise, and ownership of key Food Service customer accounts related to breaded and fried poultry and associated meal applications.
This role requires the ability to independently deliver customer projects, understand commercial production capabilities, and lead products from initial development through commercialization. The SeniorScientist will engage confidently with customers across multiple interactions, including technical presentations and hands‑on working sessions.
In addition to customer responsibilities, food formulation and systems expertise is preferred. The individual must collaborate effectively with the Coatings team and work cross‑functionally with Sales, Business Development, Regulatory, and other internal partners.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and own RD&A management for key Appetizer processor or customer accounts
* Partner with customers on internal and external requests, supporting initiatives from concept through commercialization and troubleshooting
* Understand and troubleshoot customer production processes
* Serve as a key member of customer‑facing, cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions that Nourish and Delight customers
* Coordinate customer calls and presentations with Sales and Culinary partners, covering both technical and culinary content
* Develop gold standard formulas in collaboration with Culinary and subject matter experts (SMEs)
* Match competitive products, optimize formulations, and lead products from concept through commercialization while executing internal processes
* Conduct research, including new product research and food development
* Participate in ideation and brainstorming sessions
* Develop and protect Intellectual Property through accurate documentation of research and experimentation.
Qualifications and skills
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related scientific field

* 5-10 years of experience in an RD&A food service environment or related field.
