6K is searching for an experienced Sr. Process Engineering Technician with strong experience working with vacuum-related and high-temperature equipment. The successful candidate will have strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills in addition to demonstrated hands-on experience in broad areas of mechanics, electronics, and testing.
In this exciting and dynamic role, the successful person will work as part of a small research and development team providing support in the design, integration, and testing of various electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical subsystems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an integrated team member, this role is responsible for the production of advanced materials through operation, hardware implementation, and troubleshooting of our patented equipment. It is expected that the individual in this position will provide meaningful contributions and will gain exposure to advanced technology while providing hands-on assessments and revisions.
Further responsibilities include:
- Ownership of production operations of the assigned unit, adhering to and contributing to process development specifications;
- Lead activities that proactively maintain and maximize the unit uptime and output including support for plasma, electronic and mechanical systems;
- Engage in the continual system and process improvements with an eye toward cost reductions associated with material powder production and collection;
- Contribute to equipment prototype development and integration;
- Conduct process experiments, accurately recording and reporting data.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree in engineering technology, mechanical or electrical engineering, or similar degree;
- 3+ years prior related experience in research or manufacturing environment; preferably in metals or chemical processing with 5S and Six Sigma background;
- Understanding of the utilization of human-machine interfaces (HMI) and automation as process monitoring tools; machine vision preferred
- Must have experience with vacuum chamber-related and high-temperature equipment;
- Experience in systematic troubleshooting and resolving technical-related issues;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collegial environment;
- Knowledge of metallurgical criteria is helpful;
- Previous experience with high voltage, microwave equipment, and electric devices is highly desirable but not required.
