Hog Technologies is rapidly growing our Hog Striping and Waterblasting divisions and is currently seeking to fill several Labor vacancies responsible for performing various tasks to aid in daily operations.
Job expectations:
Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds
Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively
Working outdoors, working safely around high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances
Department Dependent-
working in a wet environment with limited visibility
Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities
Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans
Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone
Communicating clearly in English- both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor
Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees
Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, background and criminal record check.
Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing
Requirements
What you'll need:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
At least 3 years of experience as a laborer
Valid driver's license with a clear driving record because the position requires the candidate to drive a company truck
Ability to work with others
Ability to work with little supervision
Mechanical aptitude is necessary
Ability to appropriately represent Waterblasting.com to customers
A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC™ card) preferred.
Knowledge of the safety regulations in phosphate mines plus a Phosphate Card a plus. Company will provide Phosphate
Safety training and other site-specific training on each assignment
Must be able to speak, read and white English as part of the job.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment: This job operates in a variety of environments based on the location of the job that could lead to hot, wet, cold, dusty, and noisy areas.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position that requires the laborer to be able to work either of two shifts (day or night), day shift is a Monday through Friday schedule, night shift is a Sunday - Thursday schedule. The day shift typically begins at 6AM and travel to the work site in a company vehicle. The night shift laborer will report to work at 7:00 PM, all work is performed at our customer's locations across Florida; some out of state work is also scheduled each year. Pavement and Signs Laborers may be required to work 8-14 hours per shift. Some work is performed during facility shut downs or overnight. Night and weekend work may be required to meet customer requirements. Per diem compensation provided for each night away from HQ and hotel accommodation is paid by the company.
Travel: This position has a 75-80% travel requirement
