Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. The Food and Nutrition Services department at Missouri Baptist Medical Center's mission is to provide nutritionally balanced meals and medical nutrition therapy for patients, staff and visitors of Missouri Baptist Medical Center by working collaboratively with the facility's nursing, ancillary and medical staff professionals. Our licensed clinical dieticians provide medical nutrition therapy to both inpatients and outpatients as it relates to their personal medical needs. The department's patient services, production and retail teams work to deliver a variety of food offerings on a daily basis that are nutritionally balanced, healthy, flavorful and fresh for the hospital's patients, employees and visitors.

Role Purpose
Performs a variety of food service inventory functions, including receipt and distribution of raw products/materials, storage of food, inventory maintenance, ordering and security, unloading trailers/pallets of incoming deliveries. This position must adhere to quality control standards, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) procedures, food code regulations, and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) guidelines as determined by the Manager. This position uses motorized equipment such as a pallet jack and pallet stacker and requires certification for these pieces of equipment.
Responsibilities
Receives, inspects, moves raw food products and non-food supplies from warehouse/storeroom to production locations as well as moving product to delivery/distribution points while utilizing motorized equipment and following safe food handling guidelines.Provides food and non-food supplies by accurately filling requisitions from various departments throughout the hospital and satellite areas.Orders raw food products, paper products, chemicals, and various other supplies through computerized ordering system(s). Performs inventory counts, reconciles, and makes visual checks of on-hand materials.Maintains inventory for storerooms, kitchen coolers and freezers.Maintains clean, sanitary, and orderly work areas such as the storeroom, coolers, freezers and all storage areas and transporting devices. Demonstrates knowledge of all safety processes, food code regulations, HACCP guidelines, and FSMA guidelines.
