Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting). Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and troubleshoot issues. Repair or replace defective parts on equipment such as motors, fans, pumps, and controls. Inspect and maintain building safety systems including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and sprinklers. Monitor and operate the Building Automated Systems (BAS) or other control systems. Assist with space setups, furniture moves, and office reconfigurations. Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs of work performed. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and building codes. Collaborate with contractors and vendors when specialized services are required. Perform general building tasks including painting, drywall repair, door hardware adjustments, etc. Provide input on facility improvement projects and suggest cost-effective solutions. Secure building and occupants by ensuring that City and State fire and safety code and regulations are followed, documentation is accurate, and fire protection equipment is maintained. Assist in securing bids for repair and replacement from outside vendors and contractors. Assist in preparing purchase orders for approval; ordering; receiving and storing inventory, equipment, and supplies used in performance of maintenance functions. Travel to offsite locations, hardware store, vendors, etc. as determined by supervisor. Other duties as assigned or requested. QUALIFICATIONS Advanced knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.). Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work on ladders, and perform manual tasks. Advanced computer skills for work order management and email communication. Ability to work evening and/or weekend hours due to the service delivery and administrative needs of SVFS clients and families. Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule that includes 24-hour availability for full one-week periods. Ability to begin the workday at 5:00 am for heavy snow removal. EDUCATION & EXPERIIENCE High School diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational or technical training is highly preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field. Must possess knowledge and skills in the areas of grounds keeping, landscape and general maintenance. Valid Driver's License and Proof of Auto Liability Insurance. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
