As a PhD Candidate/Research Assistant he is responsible for carrying out research on igneous geochemistry, including sample preparation, data interpretation, and scientific communication. The RA to be hired has been working on this funded project for the past two years and is now instrumental to the project's completion. Past work has included preparing samples and acquiring preliminary data that were central to securing project funding. Sample preparation for this project requires expertise in the identification of inclusion bearing mineral grains and careful preparation of these grains for microanalysis, which the RA has been trained to do under my supervision.
