Job Description
As a Cardiac Electrophysiology Technician, you will work closely with physicians to diagnose and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases and arrhythmias in the Cath/EP Lab. You will specialize in PTCA, stent placement, IABP placement, EP devices, and ablations. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases and cardiac arrhythmias
Specialize in the care of patients undergoing PTCA, stent placement, IABP placement, EP devices, and ablations
Collaborate with the Cardiac Services team to provide excellent patient care and ensure positive outcomes
Ensure that equipment and devices are properly maintained and functioning for patient procedures
Follow all hospital protocols and safety standards to maintain a sterile environment during procedures
Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program
2 years of EP experience with knowledge of ablation devices (strongly preferred)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CV Tech) credentials required

This 15-bed stepdown/PCU unit has a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio (occasionally 4:1), with a focus on patients transitioning from ICU or requiring closer observation than med-surg/tele. Nurses in this role manage long-term ventilator patients and provide care in a true progressive setting.
