In addition to being able to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools under supervision.. Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job. Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, fork lifts, and company trucks. Willing to learn application of various coatings including paints and varnishes. Demonstrate ability to correctly install the following: Doors Door Jambs Windows Trim Suspended Ceilings Paneling Drywall Stairs The employee must participate in safety meetings, safety programs and in the quality process. The employee must clean the work area at the end of the day or at the completion of each job. Qualifications Should have some experience as a helper in the Carpentry. Experience working inside industrial facilities is a plus. The employee must be able to use standard and/or metric rule to measure. Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems. Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and fit test.
