Job Summary

Responsibilities
Load and unload Express packages from air freight containers to and from semi-trucks in a widely dispersed area.
Sorting, scanning and movement of small packages within the warehouse.
Buildup / Breakdown package containers ready for outbound/inbound flights.
Removal of tie-downs and other gear when loading and unloading.
Operate air freight handling equipment such as pallet jacks and gaylords (push carts).
Weighing, labeling, or make/break-down of gaylords or air freight containers .
Check air express containers for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate per air safety and security guidelines.
Report to position on time, as scheduled, including mandatory overtime requirements, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Successfully complete required computer based and on the job trainings .
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards .
Perform all functions in accordance with safety procedures and policies.
Work outdoors with exposure to extreme weather/elements, engine noise, and noxious fumes.
Minimum Requirements
• High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent required.
• One-year experience in similar role preferred not required.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and holidays. Peak Season (November-December) may require longer hours.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language.

5. Process and secure unclaimed luggage, updates BMAS and create a BMAS on-hand record in SABRE. Coordinate on-hand bags, update BMAS desk requests, contact passengers regarding unclaimed baggage.
6. Coordinate with Ramp services regarding bag deliveries, missing bags. Update records with late arriving bag information.
7. Assist customers with Skycap requests.
8. Monitor baggage delivery and complete baggage delivery quality checklist.
9. Must be familiar with all FAA/Airline/Company regulations.
10. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work are and report maintenance needs.
11. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.

This position is responsible for ensuring all feet vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest level of safety, cleanliness, repair and performance required to reliably meet VIA's daily service demands. This position oversees, manages and ensures all facets of vehicle and equipment maintenance is performed to the highest level of quality and minimally includes scheduled and unscheduled minor to major level mechanical, electrical, fareboxes, cameras, radios and visual, HVAC, paint and bodywork, repair, servicing, and cleaning. VIA's maintenance department operates 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, which requires this safety sensitive position to be on call 24/7 to respond to operational needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works with the Director of Fleet Maintenance and other VIA staff, provides leadership, communication, planning, implementation, and management of VIA's large scale, fleet and equipment maintenance operations. Responsible for ensuring all vehicles and equipment are safe, dependable, clean, highly maintained, and ready to consistently support daily service requirements.
Manages, evaluates effectiveness, develops, and implements continuous adjustments to VIA's preventative maintenance inspection program (PMI) to ensure the highest level of vehicle performance and dependability. Consistently monitors the program and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure on-time compliance.
Responsible for the employees' oversight, review, adjustments, documentation, training, and enforcement of quality control through spot checks, procedures, positive leadership, and motivation of team members.
Reviews and work closely with other department managers to ensure proper instruction content and effective training of maintenance staff is being provided to support all maintenance efforts required to effectively meet operational goals.
Involved with the preparation and adherence to the vehicle and equipment maintenance operating and capital budgets.
Conducts cost/benefit analyses to identify effective methods of reducing maintenance costs. Responsible for identifying and requisitioning cost-effective parts, materials, supplies, and services necessary for vehicle maintenance operations.
Responsible for the accurate and detailed recording and monitoring of vehicle maintenance activities and expenditures using available maintenance tracking software.
Reviews, analyses, and makes necessary changes and adjustments to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to ensure peak performance that supports the department's goals and objectives.
Works with other staff performs the review and planning of all vehicle and equipment life cycle replacements to include research and development of fleet and equipment specifications.
Provides technical support to subordinates within and outside of the Fleet Maintenance Department. Coordinates efforts with VIA safety, security, training, and environmental personnel to meet, improve upon and sustain standards and regulations.
Responds to vehicle maintenance related issues raised by internal and external customers, and vendors. Creates and presents vehicle maintenance related presentations to internal and external customers.
Responsible for the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) Technical and Campaign bulletins to ensure operational quality. Ensure proper administration of all VIA policies and procedures.
Responsible for addressing all Vehicle Maintenance employee issues to include pay and overtime, seniority staffing, analyses, hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, safety, discipline, morale, accountability, and productivity.
Maintains positive and collaborative relations with the represented workforce. Overall responsible for directing, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the interpretation of the working conditions to ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with the Memorandum of Working Conditions of Hourly-Paid Employees. Addresses related to labor issues with labor representatives including the handling of grievances and discipline.
Stays abreast of first-aid, safety, and hazardous material regulations and procedures.
Reviews accidents and supports accident prevention programs. Constantly and consistently promotes safety and good housekeeping throughout VIA's operations.
Ensure that employees are aware of Environmental Safety Management Systems (ESMS) policies and practices.
Ensures fleet operations compliance with all federal, state, and local vehicle related safety and environmental regulations.
Responsible for staying abreast of the latest developments in vehicle technology, vehicle and equipment related regulations, transit technology, training methods, and vehicle repair procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in a related field or certification in diesel or automotive technology and ten (10) years' experience in fleet and equipment maintenance operations with 2 years supervisory experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of education on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Hands on background as a heavy-duty vehicle mechanic with working knowledge of diesel engineers and alternative powerplants such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric.
Experience in a union environment.

Thorough knowledge of safety hazards and accident prevention methods are common to vehicle maintenance operations.

Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Drivers License. Preferably and at will, to possess and maintain a valid Texas CDL (class B with a Passenger endorsement).

About the Position
The Traffic Clerk is responsible for maintaining traffic flow for trailers in and out of the facility. This position is responsible for completing gate pass and yard checks. This position may also complete administrative duties.
Functions
Performs trailer check in/out at the distribution or warehouse facility.
Maintains flow of trailers/traffic for both in and outbound operations.
Communicates facility and yard rules to incoming drivers.
Completes inbound and outbound gate pass and yard checks.
Assign outbound trailers identified within WMS reporting.
Coordinates communications for transloads, returns, live loads, broken seals, etc..
Work with yard service team to perform proper yard checks and reconciliation.
