ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Intervention
Conduct oral health assessments as required.
Implement Hawaii Keiki Sealant program for children at selected Hawaii Department of Education elementary schools.
Provide, under general supervision, preventative services including fluoride varnish and dental sealants to children in the schools with a portable dental set up.
Provide oral health education and information to students and staff to assist them to be competent, self-directed consumers of oral health services.
Serve as an oral health content resource to Hawaii Keiki nurses.
Interdisciplinary/Interagency Collaboration
Work collaboratively with the Core Dental Sealant team (Dentist; Dental Hygiene Program Manager) to provide quality preventive dental health services for designated schools.
Providing mentoring to Dental Hygiene students during their clinical rotations within identified Complex Areas.
Other
Adheres to the American Dental Hygienists' Association - American Dental Hygienists' Association - Standards for Clinical Dental Hygiene Practice.
Complies with all legal requirements and company policies.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
An associate's or equivalent degree in dental hygiene.
Possession of a current unrestricted license to practice as a Dental Hygienist or Community Service Dental Hygienist in the State of Hawaii.
Current BLS/CPR certification
1 year of experience in community based oral health settings, school dental hygiene, or pediatric dental hygiene practice.
Knowledge of HIPAA rules, regulations, and compliance.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations for blood borne pathogens.

WORK SCHEDULE

Security is the first Mid-Pacific Institute employee that the public comes into contact with for entrance onto campus and/or to seek information. Security is responsible for, but not limited to, monitoring campus entry and exit points, patrolling the premises of the school campus to detect suspicious activity, and assisting administration, faculty, staff, students, and visitors to ensure the safety of all individuals and the protection of all assets.
Security shall provide information and requests that comply with safety and other Mid-Pacific Institute policies as directed on campus.

We are seeking a Peer Navigator, a current or former recipient of opioid use disorder/addiction mental health services who performs a wide range of tasks that are designed to assist consumers in regaining personal control over their lives and over their own recovery processes.

Position Details
Program Duration: Up to 5 weeks (dates may vary by course)
Work Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:00 PM (hours may vary by course)
Orientation: Mandatory in-person session for new teachers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare and submit a course syllabus and weekly lesson plans that follow GlobalX curriculum guidelines.
Create and maintain a Canvas (LMS) page with course content, grades, pictures, and provide prompt and effective communication with families.
Maintain effective classroom management and communication, liaising with GlobalX Staff, the Summer Programs Dean, and parents as needed.
Build relationships with students and encourage active participation throughout the course.
Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and resources for learning that reflect an understanding of the diverse learning styles of students.
Monitor student s progress through the course and provide ongoing feedback on their achievement.
Grade assignments, projects, and assessments in a timely manner.
Additional duties as assigned by the Director.
Regular and predictable attendance at work.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
Associate s Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred Requirements
Experience working in a school environment.
At least one (1) year of teaching experience.
Experience with project-based learning, the inquiry process, design thinking, or experiential education.
Experience working with students of all ages.
Experience working in Canvas.
Experience working in Google suite.
Strong verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires up to 5 weeks of work during the Summer Programs (dates may vary by course). Work hours are typically Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM (hours may vary by course).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision.

The Complex RN will support and assist the Complex Area and school administration to expand the access to care including on site school clinic and telehealth services, establish safety protocols to reduce the spread of infectious disease (such as COVID-19), coordinate with community partners to enhance existing services and connect students to primary care and specialty providers, in addition to providing education to school staff, students and families. School nursing practice requires the combination of professional clinical nursing practice with a specialized component that promotes the health, well-being, academic achievement, and success of the school-age child. The school nurse is called upon to work closely with teachers, classroom assistants, office personnel, school administrators, Hawaii Keiki team members, and support the school health assistant (SHA) to carry out a wide range of school health activities.

Paid Time off includes all HIDOE holidays and breaks (Fall, Winter, Spring break, Summer break) + sick leave and flex time off
10 Month Employee:
Will follow the HIDOE Teacher Schedule. While the Employee is not required to report to the school or complex area superintendent's office when DOE schools are closed, it is expected that the employee will meet their professional responsibilities to the program which will include attendance at scheduled meetings and events during non-student days.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training/Experience:
A bachelor's or equivalent degree in nursing or health related field
BLS for healthcare provider certification
Experience with the use of electronic health records and program reporting
Possession of a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Hawaii; or ability to sit for NCLEX exam within 180 days of graduation, in accordance with Executive Order 20-04
One year of experience in community-based health settings, school nursing, or pediatric nursing; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Knowledge of HIPAA rules, regulations, and compliance.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations for blood borne pathogens.
