This position will increase customer satisfaction and retention by providing Health Plan customers and Advice Nurses with assistance in scheduling appointments. The Telephone Advance Scheduler is an experienced Service Associate who utilizes guidelines and protocols established by the Chief Physician of Primary Care Medicine. The Advance Scheduler is able to process information provided to evaluate patient needs over the telephone, adhering to organizational and clinical policies and procedures. The associate will identify and locate appointments that generally hinder the Advice Nurses from focusing on triage, patient assessment and advice. The Advance Scheduler has to be familiar with reviewing provider schedule templates for all Medical Offices in order obtain the appropriate appointment. The associate must also be familiar with all appointment types. The call may exceed the normal handling time for the Appointment Call Center. This position is responsible for continuously responding to, resolving, and following up in a timely manner to inquiries from customers and nurses regarding appointment access. The role requires that the individual exceed performance standards in an effort to provide quality service to our customers. This role is essential to providing high levels of service in keeping with our organizational strategy. Telephone Advance Schedulers will provide information as well as navigate through the organization on behalf of customers to advocate for their needs in order to satisfy and retain members' and providers' participation in the Health Plan. Customers include Members, Physicians, Service Associates, Member Service Reps, Clinical Supervisors and Advice Nurses. The incumbent will also assist members in obtaining medical services, either scheduling them for facility visits or provider phone encounter. The call will be conducted in a prompt, professional, concise, courteous, standardized, and accurate manner to assure customer focused telephone service. Must demonstrate leadership skills and be able to work independently. Must be able to navigate Epic, IRCS and Cadence. Must have the ability to create a positive work environment.

Schedule, reschedule, cancel and verifies patient appointments.
Receives and responds to telephone calls from members and nurses to assist nurses in securing medical care by assessing the patient's appointment need utilizing approved guidelines, directing access to care to include emergent care, urgent care, routine and same day appointments.
