How We Determined the Most Successful Cities in Colorado

When we think of success, financial metrics often come to mind. However, we believe success encompasses more than just wealth. For our analysis, we considered a set of criteria based on the latest available data:

  • Poverty Level
  • Median Household Income
  • Unemployment Rate

Median household income offers a clear picture of a community’s wealth. The unemployment rate indicates potential for future growth and prosperity. A lower unemployment rate suggests a brighter outlook for residents.

We analyzed data from all 79 cities in Colorado with populations over 5,000. Each city was ranked from 1 to 79 across the criteria, with 1 representing the highest success. We then averaged these rankings to create a “Success Score,” with the city having the lowest score being deemed the most successful.

Now, let’s explore what makes our top 10 cities exceptional, starting with our leading city, Cherry Hills Village.
