The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Facilities Management functions in the community and around the community grounds. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the residents. This is accomplished by having a working knowledge of building systems, such as plumbing, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), electrical and mechanical, equipment repair, and related code requirements. **RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS**
**Essential Duties**

**Community Operations**
+ Respond to all building emergencies.
+ Review, reads, notate, and initial Daily Log and Maintenance Log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident's physical and behavioral changes and respond in a timely manner to requests and concerns from residents, family members, and team members.
+ Maintain all painted surfaces and flooring throughout the community.

**Safety and Risk Management**
+ Partner with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements and promoting Risk Management programs and policies.
+ Ensure the following procedures and practices are enforced as needed: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
+ Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way.
+ Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste and damage to areas and equipment and to prevent accidents.
+ Comply with all infection control techniques, procedures, and policies.
**Mechanical Systems**
+ Maintain the HVAC system to ensure proper air quality and comfortable temperatures throughout the community.
+ Test, schedule inspections, and maintain proper documentation on the fire protection systems.
+ Conduct fire and disaster drills following the appropriate policy and procedure guidelines.
+ Test low voltage systems as required.
+ Maintain the interior and exterior lighting.

+ Maintain the alarm systems for the community.

**Administration**
+ Maintain an accurate vendor/contractor telephone list with contact names and emergency telephone numbers.
+ Order equipment and supplies in compliance with Purchasing Department standards.
+ Ensure Building Management Platform logbooks are in compliance per federal, state/provincial, and Sunrise standards (temperature log, fire extinguisher log, cleaning log, bio-hazard removal log).
+ Partner with Government/Agency authorized personnel
**Team Member Training**
+ Train team members on the following:
+ Location and operation of all utility shut-off devices
+ Emergency response protocols
+ Housekeeping procedures
+ Laundry procedures
+ Safe chemical handling and usage
**Financial Management**
+ Assist in the presentation and value of Sunrise's products and services for our residents, families, team members, and targeted referral sources.
+ Assist the executive director in completing the annual community budget.
+ Understand and manage the department budget to include labor/labour and other expenses and its impact on the community's bottom line.
+ Review monthly financial statements and implement plans of action around deficiencies.
+ Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data through APIM timely per Sunrise policies and internal business controls.
+ Coordinate with the community team to achieve maximum staff economies and cross training when applicable.
+ Understand the internal cost associated with all Sunrise resident care programs.
**Training Leadership and Team Member Development**
+ Manage the department, including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining.
+ Partner in the delivery and participation in Sunrise University Training and self-study programs during the required timeframe.
+ Develop a working knowledge of state/provincial regulations and ensure compliance through supervising and coaching team members.
+ Achieve the Team Member Engagement goals and actively lead in the Engagement Improvement Planning sessions.
+ Complete team member staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines.
+ Conduct daily review of timekeeping practices and payroll reports to ensure all hours worked are recorded and appropriately paid.
+ Conduct timely performance appraisals with meaningful conversations.
+ Hold team accountable and corrects actions when necessary and documents.
+ Attend regular meetings; Stand Up, Cross Over, Weekly Leadership, Town Hall, Quality Assurance Process Improvement, and others as directed by the Executive Director.
+ Keep abreast of professional developments in the field by reading, attending conferences and training sessions.
+ Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.

Medication Administration
* Provide the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner.
* Review, read, notate, and initial the electronic health record to document and learn about pertinent information about residents.
* Receive medication updates from Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse.
* Administer, assist with, and observe medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass ("Right" resident, medication, dosage, time, route, right to refuse).
* Ensure that medications are passed according to times and utilizing the mobile med cart.
* Document and initial as medications are given and ensure that appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses.
* Maintain confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents.
* Report all resident concerns and unavailable medications, made while administering the medication, to the RCD or Wellness Nurse.
* Restock medication cart after all medication passes.
* Assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
* Assess the residents to determine need for "as needed medication" and appropriately document and report to supervisor.
* Count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager (MCM) or Lead Care Manager (LCM) each shift and report discrepancies.
* Maintain and clean the Medication Room, medication carts, and treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications, and expired medications.
* Follow re-fill process for medications and notify RCD or Wellness Nurse if a new prescription is needed.
* Help residents maintain independence and promote dignity and physical safety of each resident adhering to the Sunrise Principles of Service.
* Strive to understand and respond to each resident with empathy, always remaining mindful of the resident's unique communication patterns, history, and basic human needs.
* Practice routinely good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
Resident Care Communications
* Notify RCD of any resident and/or family concerns.
* Attend and actively participates in daily Cross Over meetings facilitated by the LCM.
* Participate in the development of the Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
Risk Management and General Safety
* Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.
* Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
* Report all accidents/incidents immediately.
* Report all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
* Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes.
* Comply with all infection control techniques, placement of bio-hazard containers, removal techniques, procedures, and policies.
* Understand and practice the proper method of attending to and disposing of, and the possibility of exposure to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious waste, sharp sticks, and hazardous materials.
* Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.
* Ensure oxygen tanks are stored safely, exchange guest/resident's tanks when empty, and monitor to make sure liters of oxygen are at prescribed levels.
Training and Contributing to Team Success

The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for designing Life Skills to reflect each resident's past interests and for providing them with encouragement, prompts, and hands on assistance. Life Skills Program
Evaluate resident's interest and involvement in Life Skills.
Develop Life Skills tailored to each resident's unique needs and abilities.
Engage residents in Life Skills throughout the day and evening.
Ensure that every resident has an opportunity to engage in Life Skills or other life enrichment activities daily.
Review resident profile and the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and spend time talking with residents and family members to determine the best Life Skill or life enriching activity for each resident.
Ensure the Life Skill is included on the demographic profile of each resident and apply the information by being responsible for implementing, leading, and motivating others in the appropriate Life Skill for the residents in partnership with the Reminiscence Coordinator (RC).
Organize small groups or clubs that address those similar needs and preferences in a small group/club setting using the resident's demographic profile information.
Ensure that the Life Skill is included on the socialization and leisure activities section of the ISP.
Act as a role model and encourage other team members to engage in Life Skills with residents.
Assist residents to and from the Life Skills stations and other normalizing life enriching activities and routines.
Record and document resident participation according to Sunrise quality service standards.
Maintain and expand Life Skills stations and other life enriching programs and replenish supplies as needed.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of Life Skills programming supplies.
Assist residents with daily care of any animals and/or plants as part of the Life Skills program and services.
Resident Focus
Review, read, notate, and initial the Daily Log and Department Log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident's physical and behavioral/communication pattern changes as well as Life Skills information.
Review the ISP, Resident Profile, Demographic Profile, and Addendums for every new resident.
Give input on the Demographic Profile and ISP to ensure that each resident has a personalized Life Skill listed that reflects their past interests and reflects their current abilities.
Practice positive resident relations following our Sunrise Shared Values, respond to resident and family member requests, and direct resident and family member feedback to immediate supervisor.
Assist Reminiscence Coordinator (RC) to ensure each resident's Memory Box is completed within two (2) weeks of move-in.
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information.
Volunteer and Community Focus
Assists with and support local businesses, organizations, and schools in the development and retention of the community volunteer programs under the leadership of the (RC) and Activities & Volunteer Coordinator (AVC).
Assist with the volunteer orientations, volunteer training programs, and appropriate volunteer paperwork according to Sunrise standards.
Dining Service
Serve meals in the dining room.
Assist residents in Life Skills in the dining room during set up and clean up.
Risk Management and General Safety
Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.
Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
Report all accidents/incidents immediately.
Report all hazardous and unsafe conditions and equipment immediately.
Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way, not blocking exits, and in compliance with fire codes.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
Demonstrate proficiency and understand the Quality Service Review (QSR) process and essential quality service standards pertaining to enriching resident centered activities and programming and partner with community team in striving for excellent quality care and service as measured in the QSR process.
Partner with community team to ensure community follows all federal, state/provincial, and local laws and regulations and Sunrise quality standards for resident care and services.
Maintain and/or exceed standards of cleanliness, hygiene, proper attire, and health.

Possesses knowledge of how to adapt life skills to the cognitive and functional ability of each resident thereby being able to motivate and encourage residents
Ability to Inspire, motivate, and encourage volunteers and fellow team members to engage residents in meaningful and purposeful activities
Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and Sunrise applications with the ability to learn new applications

Your Role as a Dietary Cook:
We are looking for a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our team and prepare nutritious, home-style meals for our residents. The Dietary Cook plays an essential role in maintaining high-quality dining experiences while following health and safety guidelines.
What You'll Do:
* Prepare and cook meals for residents, visitors, and staff in a timely manner.
* Follow dietician-approved menus while accommodating individual resident needs.
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas.
* Store and organize food in a safe and sanitary manner.
* Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
* Set and clear tables before and after meals.
* Operate kitchen appliances safely and efficiently.
* Adhere to company policies, procedures, and professional behavior standards.
* Follow HIPAA guidelines regarding resident confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
* Standing, sitting, walking, and changing positions frequently.
* Lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs; pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
* Using hands and arms to reach, balance, kneel, stoop, and bend.
* Ability to safely operate kitchen appliances and tools.
Safety Requirements:
* Use of carts for transporting items safely.
* Proper protective hand equipment for handling knives, sharp objects, and hot surfaces.
* Skid-resistant, supportive shoes to prevent slips and falls.
* Mandatory reporting of work-related injuries within 12 hours.
* Participation in company drug testing procedures.
Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Grade school education required.
* Preferred experience in quantity food production in a healthcare setting.
