KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA. Follow all company policies and local, state and federal regulations for safe working procedures. Maintain electronic and process control equipment. Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motor controls and drives. Design, install, maintain and repair over-head high voltage power lines. Work closely with the engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete repairs, upgrades and capital improvement projects. Assisting other electricians as needed and completing special projects. May be responsible for welding associated with the above duties. Ability and knowledge to operate mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair and/or clean mobile equipment as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a safe work history. Have a positive attitude and proactive approach to our safety program. Electrician with some industrial electrical experience (1 to 2-years' industrial electrical experience or more). Must be actively working towards an MSHA electrical certification. Ability to work on high voltage systems under supervision. Ability to perform ground bed and ground continuity resistance testing. Ability to read and comprehend electrical wiring schematics. Technical electrical education helpful but degree not required. Must be willing to be on call. Currently possess and maintain a valid drivers' license and good driving record. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Good safety, behavior and attendance record. The selected candidate will be required to work collectively in a team environment with other co-workers and managers. Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills. Willingness to do other work as needed, including heavy labor. Willingness to work outside in all weather extremes. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, over time and weekends as required. Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.
