Job Summary The Apprentice Electrician, under the direction of the Master Electrician, is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning and servicing of industrial / commercial electrical equipment and systems. This position will be responsible for following the directions of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work. Essential Job Responsibilities The Electrician Apprentice will assist the Electrician with basic tasks Complete Maintenance work orders on electrical equipment. Testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts. Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems. Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. Up-dates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. Minimum Qualifications Required: 2-4 years of electrical apprenticeship preferred Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen. Basic computer knowledge is required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Possessing the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals Preferred: Skilled in math which includes adding and subtracting fractions. Must be reliable and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
