This person will also spend a good deal of time interacting with employees and subcontractors alike, so a people-first mentality and positive attitude is key. About the Role:
While no two days look the same here at Lone Star Paving, here’s a brief overview at some of the things you will be tackling:
- Jobsite Prep
- Equipment checks and daily maintenance.
- Operating a Paver, Screw, Roller, or Skid Steer.
- Asphalt Raking
- Shoveling
- Sweeping
- Saw-cutting
- Using a Pick or Jack Hammer
- Jobsite Cleaning
- Cleaning shop and yard
- Washing trucks and equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience operating any paving equipment.
- Experience raking asphalt
- Must be willing to work hard.
- Must have strong communications skills.
- Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime are expected.
- Excellent safety awareness and willingness to comply with all company policies and safety standards
- Must project a positive and cooperative attitude by maintaining courteous and professional conduct.
Working Conditions
- This job requires the ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat twist, and climb heavy equipment several times throughout the day. In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet regularly and use hands, arms, and legs repeatedly on the job. This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces, as well as working in confined areas.
