This position is primarily responsible for performing engineering functions specific to the discipline (civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, structural, transportation, and water management) under the direction of a Professional Engineer.
Essential Functions: Performs engineering computations, conducts evaluations, design analyses, and design development. Prepares reports, recommendations and opinions for approval by a supervising Professional Engineer. Applies standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data; recognizes and resolves discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related steps or processes. Works as a member of a project team in the development of data and/or applications. Acts as a technical advisor to technical staff. Uses CAD to develop engineering and design documents. Serves as a field engineer during construction of a project.

Required Qualifications:


BA/BS or four (4) years related experience. Engineer in Training certification preferred. Must be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic scientific, technical, financial and legal documents. Must be able to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations. Must be able to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships. Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community. Must have Microsoft Office suite skills. Must be familiar with discipline related software applications.



Resulting Physical Qualifications:



Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities



What You'll Do


The Assistant Engineer is responsible for a general maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Assist in monitoring building system operations and performance with moderate supervision Utilize several trades skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling Maintain all equipment as required per preventative maintenance programs prescribed by manufacturer's specifications Document and report activities to supervisor Respond to emergency situations (fire, flood, equipment failures, etc.) Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and HVAC May be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations; may require shift work and/or call duties Help with other aspects of building maintenance as required

Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists RNs and physicians with assessments, examinations and treatments as requested. The following list of treatments/examinations is not inclusive and may vary by Business Unit:

a) Drawing blood and collection of specimens

b) EKG's c) Splint/immobilizers applications

d) Taking vital signs on adults and pediatric patients

e) Inserting neuro-gastric tubes and attaches it to the ordered drainage.

f) Urethral catherizations of adult patients

g) Application of sterile dressings

h) Starting unmedicated IV's in Category II

i) Discontinuance of peripheral IV's

2. Prepares and assists physician with procedures such as:

a) Suturing-preps patients and prepares sterile trays.

b) Application of casts, holding patients.

c) Miscellaneous procedures including pelvic exams, lumbar punctures

3. Recognizes potentially life-threatening dysrhythmias and abnormal vital signs and reports same to RN/provider

4. Assists patients as needed.

5. Adheres to hospital policy addressing standard precautions, safety regulations and guidelines.

6. Documents patient care performed, including vital signs.

7. Cleans equipment, monitor stock, and restocks equipment and supplies as required.

8. Assists in ordering routine equipment; maintains sufficient quantities of stretchers, wheelchairs, suction equipment, etc. in ER area.

9. Transports patients and supplies.

10.Maintains departmental cleanliness and prepares rooms between patients and procedures.

11.Maintains knowledge and utilization of limited high-tech emergency and nonemergency equipment.

12.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* A general knowledge such as that acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or G.E.D. required.
* Previous Emergency Dept Technician, MA or Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
* BCLS certification required.

LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

* One of four certifications required: B-EMT, Graduate Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
* Completion of a formal nursing education program to practice as an RN offshore.
* Completion of a formal medical doctor education program to practice as a medical doctor offshore. EMT license preferred.
* Successful completion of a 180 day orientation period required.
