Essential Qualifications:
Experience in law enforcement and or professional security preferred with proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position. High school diploma or GED required. Demonstrated knowledge of security procedures. Excellent knowledge of public safety and security protocols. Must be able to work in heat and cold. Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Possess prior experience in working in some capacity with children, adolescents and adults. Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community.

Essential Functions of Position:
Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and visitors on campus. Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise high-quality judgement. Ensure the premises are secure by patrolling the assigned campus area(s) and ensuring the grounds are safe. Keep doors/gates locked and opened at designated times determined by Chief School Administrator or their designee. Greet members of the public and ensure all visitors provide proper identification and sign in appropriately. Work closely with the front desk to communicate the arrival of visitors. Provide assistance and security to community groups using the school facility and for after school activities if applicable. Control and monitor the flow of traffic in the lobby, maintaining a calm, welcoming environment. Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations. Monitor student's behavior on campus, in cafeterias, restrooms, parking lot and other open areas. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Chief School Administrator or their designee.

Job Title: Attendance Officer-High School



Pay Grade: PG3



Status: Non-Exempt



Reports to: Campus Principal



Dept./School: Memorial High School



Date Revised: 9. 2022



Terms of Employment:


10 months/ 183 days per year. Salary is at Administrative Support Pay Grade PG3 on the EISD Compensation Plan. Entry level rate of pay is $16.53/hour with additional consideration based upon directly related experience.


Primary Purpose:


Facilitate the efficient operation of the attendance office and community in all attendance related issues for acquiring and keeping a good ADA. To collect and compline student attendance data and process information for student accounting reports.


Qualifications:



Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency); and
  • Minimum of 15 completed college hours from an accredited college or university
  • Applicant must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant, before continuing within the process towards possible employment.


Experience:

  • One (1) year clerical/secretarial experience



Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assist in collecting, sorting, compiling and publishing the daily absentee report for the school.
  2. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the school's attendance records.
  3. Compile information for preparing various reports.
  4. Organize and maintain all correspondence, records, and other department data in an easily retrievable fashion.
  5. Work closely with the Attendance Liaison on reducing the absenteeism rate at the campus.
  6. Maintain and ensure confidentiality of information.
  7. Keep informed of and comply with state, federal, and district policies and regulations.
  8. Attendance at work is an essential job function.
  9. Perform all other duties as assigned.
