Who we are: NewsNation is a national news cable network currently reaching 75 million television households across the United States. The network is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group (NXST). NewsNation is currently searching for a freelance Audio Operator (A1) and (A2) for our national newscasts based at our HQ in Chicago , with the opportunity for full-time staff positions as operations expand.

Responsibilities:

+ The successful candidate will be able to listen to director's commands and react swiftly and accurately to mix a clean show during live and pre-recorded programming.

Qualifications:

+ Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

+ Must be self-sufficient and have a "press-on-regardless" attitude.

Production Operations at Televisa Univision is looking for an Audio 1 Operator to join our team!

The Audio 1 Operator (A-1) is responsible for proficiency in mixing high quality audio for live or live to tape Sports Live Event and/or television programming. The A1 will report to the Production Operations Supervisor.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

+ Operational knowledge of Digital and Analog audio consoles and peripheral equipment including patch bays and routers.

+ Setting up, faxing and ensuring that all microphones, audio and media playback are adjusted for proper VU levels and equalization.

+ IFB mix minus and Telos Systems for Live Shots and Telephone call-ins.

+ Coordination of all RF/Wireless equipment (i.e., microphones, IFB and PL) as well as studio foldback with Audio Assistant (A2).

+ Provide immediate solutions in the event of equipment or other audio problems.

YOU HAVE:

+ Associates Degree in Television Production or equivalent work experience.

+ 4+ years of audio experience in a live television environment and sports programming or live audio applications.

+ Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology.

+ Studio production experience.

+ Ability to multi-task and react quickly during daily broadcasts.

+ Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

+ As this position supports a 24x7 operation, candidate must, in addition to being able to work regular hours, have on-call availability and flexibility to work days, nights, overnights, weekends and holidays as needed and without advance notice. Additionally, candidate may be required to work on site for extended periods of time to provide coverage in special circumstances, such as during tropical storms/hurricanes

Job Description

The audio and media operator will be responsible for jobs related to audio and media post-production services. Primary responsibilities include preparing and delivering media content. Candidate must have a strong understanding, efficiency, and skillset in Avid Pro Tools, with some experience in operating non-linear video editors. Knowledge of post-production audio configurations (5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos), audio file types, video types, SMPTE timecode, frame rates, and codecs is expected. Attention to detail, excellent time management, and a perfectionist mindset is paramount in this role.

• Prequalify and manage a high volume of multi-channel audio and video assets in various formats and configurations

• Perform technical quality control checks and create final deliverable packages for localized audio assets

• Update internal audio job trackers and other proprietary asset management systems

• Communicate with dubbing and client operations teams regarding status of audio assets and documentation from vendors

• Prepare Pro Tools sessions for recording, mix, and QC processes

• Generate QC and dubbing verification reports to ensure highest possible quality standards for final audio mixes

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or equivalent trade specific education

• 1+ years in audio post-production for film and tv

• Excellent Pro Tools operational skills, including the use of video in Pro Tools

• Non-linear video workstation editor skills
