Description: A Senior Product Definition Checker job is currently available at Belcan through our Windsor, CT site. This is a full time, direct position with full benefits. Great matching candidates will have the ability to own Product Definition responsibility from conceptual design through to production, working independently and within a multidisciplinary team. You will be signing off on engineering drawings, reviewing engineering packages, performing tolerance studies, and reviewing the work completed by team members with the customer's standards and expectations in mind.

* Work closely with Product Definition team members and consult with Design discipline personnel during execution phase
* Generation of drawing packages
* Preparation of drawing presentation material

* Develops Product Definition estimates and milestone schedules
* Review conceptual or final mechanical design layout definition of components using 3D modeling and ensure customer requirements of Fit, Form, and Function are met

Typical responsibilities include:
- Prepare product definition (CAD models, drawings, EBOMs) for engineering designs using Creo version 5.0 integrated with Windchill PLM System Perform checking verification of Product Definition associated with models, drawings, and PLM attributes and relationships to industry, company, and program standards Prepare and work from design layouts and/or preliminary conceptual design layouts Generate or validate tolerance stack up calculations and resulting GD&T based on ASME Y14.5 1994 Ensure adherence to model centric design philosophy (model driven drawings) via verification of CAD model data to drawing content Utilizing proficient experience with digital markup tools to communicate PD verification findings and suggestions to design staff members
- Typical responsibilities include: Prepare product definition (CAD models and drawings). Perform Verification of Product Definition tolerance stacks and calculations, includes models, drawings and PLM attributes and relationships.
- 40% - Create, check and maintain design product definition (Models & Drawings) for engineering designs. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of design layouts and/or preliminary conceptual design layouts, as well as outsourced design project leadership.
- 30% - Performs design calculations to validate any phase of design requirements.
- 20% - Estimation of resources and schedule required to complete a design activity and training to staff.
- 10% - Provide technical guidance to less senior CAD designers and to design support personnel.
Requirements:
- 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education.
- 10 years of experience with CAD systems (Creo 5.0 preferred) experience using CAD database management and PLM tools (Windchill preferred).
- Understanding of EBOMs and WC WTPart to CAD data relationships is a plus.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Aerospace hardware required. Expert knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5).
- ASME Certification in GD&T is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret product definition and related specifications.
- Position may support other AR sites in a virtual capacity, strong communication and ability to use Web based software application sharing tools required.
