Batching operator job description

- $18/ hour days, $20 hour nights

- $1 raise after 6 months and additional $1 at 12 months

- 12-hour shifts

- 2,2,3 work schedule

- clean shaven for respirator is required

- 56 hours PTO after 90 days

- Temp to hire position

This position has the primary responsibility of supporting the development of solutions for the Coatings Industry. The position is working in the prep department producing slurries for coating. Duties include, but are not limited to: mixing chemicals, testing samples, documentation, and driving fork lift.

- Must be able to work comfortably in a team environment and also effectively on individual efforts.

- Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable with email, MS Word and MS Excel.

- Must have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.

- Must be flexible and capable of adapting to priority changes on a daily basis.

- Must possess good oral and written communication skills.

- Must be able to climb multiple levels of stairs while carrying product

SKILLS:

- Experience in laboratory activity - performance experiments and familiarity with basic chemical mixing is required

- Stand-Up fork lift experience is required

- Experience in technical documentation desired

- Basic knowledge of chemical instrumentation required

- Basic knowledge of chemical compatibility required

- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and chemical storage required

- College level (Junior level) understanding of chemistry, physics and engineering preferred

-- Proactive in task management and ability to address/take care of basic laboratory facilitation

EDUCATION:

A high school diploma or GED is required

Job DescriptionCompounder, Batch Operator, Blender, Mixing, Chemicals If you are a Compounder with product mixing, ingredient mixing, and/or batch processing experience in a manufacturing/plant setting, we have an immediate day shift role available for those with applicable experience.

We are open to those candidate with a 2+ years of applicable experience, however priority consideration will be given to those candidates with at-least 3-5+ Years of directly applicable experience and knowledge of:
"Batch Operator/ Mixer experience
"any previous experience as a compounder or with Ingredient Mixing
"Forklift Operations/Exp a plus
"Quality/Safety Conscious attitude and ability is a MUST.
"Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedures.
"Ability to diagnose and solve problems to meet deadlines.
"Ability to take direction and follow oral and written instructions.
"Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
"Extensive standing and walking is required.
"Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and to perform heavy manual labor including bending and lifting.

Some of what you will be responsible for, on a daily basis, will include:
"Skillfully mix and compound ingredients according to established formulas and procedures
"Precisely weigh, measure and feed raw materials into a batch
"Follow good manufacturing guidelines
"Monitor equipment and observe production throughout the batch process.
"Safely operate forklift and pallet jacks to gather raw materials
"Clean, sanitize and inspect tools, pumps, tanks, pipelines and other equipment.
"Deliver finished batches to filling lines via pipeline or tanks
"Accurately document and record process information such as chemical used, lot numbers, time, cleaning procedure, etc.
"Insure a clean and safe environment
"Cooperate and train other operators

We are currently hiring for a Batch Operator in our Construction plant.

Compensation:
$22.57 per hour until plus $1.00 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift

Responsibilities:
The role of a batch operator apprentice is to safely operate and control systems in weighing, metering, and mixing raw materials to make consistent batches while following batch sheets and quality standards to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
• Chemical processing/batch experience strongly preferred

Capabilities:
• Ability to lift at least 55 pounds on a regular basis
• Standing 50-100% of the time
• Must be able to wear a respirator while performing this job
• Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including head, eye, ear and foot protection 90-100% of the time

Shift
3rd shift (11:00pm - 7:30am)
Initial training will occur during 1st shift which is 7:00am - 3:15pm
Occasional overtime may be required.
