First shift position
$17-19 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Efficiently sets up line, mounts grinding belts and operates grinding machine or hand grinder according to customer specifications to perform precision operations on varying metal materials.
  • Dresses grinding contact rules and table, monitors machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary and stops the machine if and when problems occur.
  • Performs inspection of material during line operation and properly completes all required inspection forms and production sheets to assure quality.
  • Plans and coordinates with helper to manage projects in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Trains and oversees grinding line operators and helpers to ensure work products meet customer order specifications.
  • Adheres to all safety/ISO requirements and policies, and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area. Must wear PPG at all times as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Meets all work order / production goals as assigned by shift supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor.
  • Performs routine maintenance, such as daily cleaning of machine parts and determines when and what kind of maintenance is required.
  • Assists in diagnosing and rectifying machine malfunctions.
  • Keeps the work area clean and orderly.


Education and Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of previous grinding machine experience or 1 to 2 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Must be certified to operate an overhead crane and trained to operate a tow motor.
  • Must be able to read and write legibly and to communicate effectively to the production team.
  • Must have the ability to apply basic and some advanced mathematical concepts and have highly accurate math skills.
  • Must be able to work from specifications; understand customer requirements and assess product quality, and monitor the operating environment to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Must be able to use a variety of precision measuring instruments, including but not limited to, micrometers, tape measures, ra meter and calipers.
  • Must be able to work accurately, safely, and efficiently and produce quality work.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.

Working Environment

  • The employee is required to talk and hear, and is often required to stand, walk, and use their hands and fingers to reach, handle, grasp, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds. The job entails repetitive motion and requires good eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, as well as material processing odors and dust. The noise level in the plant work environment is often loud and the environment can be hot and humid in the summer.

SCHEDULE:
Sunday-Thursday, 1:00 PM to Close


Job Summary:
Unloads and dumps grinding raw materials and products from pallets, skids or trucks in grinders and blenders and labels and date stamps all finished cases of patties according to specifications. Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Essential Duties
:
  • Palletizes all labeled cases according to specifications.
  • Counts all finished cases and records them on appropriate logs.
  • Separates rework from paper and places them in bins for rework.
  • Tracks all weights of rework product and records on appropriate forms.
  • Cleans around work areas.
  • Assists in all other areas of ground beef production line, including equipment setup and breakdown, box making, casing, labeling, stacking, weighing, recordkeeping, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications
:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 months related experience, preferred.
  • Must have the ability running an electric pallet jack or forklift, preferred.
  • Must be able to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations (including all safety training and safety information) associated with this position which are written in English
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


Physical Demands
:
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
