Booth operator job description

Finishing doors, windows and millwork products, which will be sold to customers while adhering to and understanding safety policies and regulations.

Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform all job operations in a safe manner in accordance with company safety policies.Read work tickets of items to be finished.Coordinate necessary materials for prepping or spraying the specified product line.Assist in set up of machinery using work tickets and trade skills for specified product line. Feed spray machine with wood products to be sprayed.Catch material as it feeds through the machine process.Maintain machine and clean pumps, spray heads, paint supply buckets and other machine parts.Help maintain spray booth area in and around Finishing Department.Store new inventory per FIFO process.Wrap finished product for customer deliveries.Tally and complete orders in the computer system. When needed licensed / trained employees will operate a forklift in a safe manner.Assist other APD Architectural Wood Shop departments in putting away inventory, 5S projects or other projects as directed by your shop supervisor.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Works in unison with another team member to move wet bins from the wash booth onto the dry booth carousel while ensuring that the line is running at maximum efficiency and keeping up with through put rates (conveyor line speed).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Consistently stands, bends, twists and lifts up to 30lbs to disassemble bin sleeve from its bottom and places it into an automated dry booth carousel.
* Responsible for performing the last quality check before the bin is shipped out to retail stores by identifying and removing any damaged sleeves from carousel.
* Manually stacks sleeves and bottoms 4-5 feet high.
* Understands, recognizes and complies with Lockout/ Tagout procedures.
* Reports identified safety and mechanical problems to Supervisor / Maintenance Personnel promptly.
* Consistently uses required personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes, but is not limited to, proper ear (noise canceling ear muffs), eye (safety glasses), hand protection (gloves) and foot protection (rubber steel toed boots).
* Constantly keeps work area clean and free from clutter at all times to maintain a safe work area.
* Rotates and assists other team members in various roles as needed.
* Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
* Maintains regular and predictable attendance

Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Job Title: Spray Booth Operator - Industrial - 2nd Shift

As a Manufacturing Associate in the Industrial production department of our TST business, you will work with a team in various different roles to produce large industrial parts for a variety of clients.

You will do this by:

• Completing regular PM’s and basic trouble shooting of equipment
• Mixing powders and changing grit
• Preforming first piece and required quality inspections
• Loading the correct programs
• Determining required run rates
• Printing labels and issuing material from Epicor
• Keeping the hour by hour board up to date with rates
• Brushing the parts
• Changing wire on the Arc unit
• Entering quality measurements in the SPC software
• Setting up and running the Arc unit

Required Qualifications:

• High School or Equivalent
• Proficient in basic math
• Proficient in speaking, writing and reading the English language

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience in the field of thermal spray
• Working knowledge of all thermal spray processes
• Experience working with Epicor

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

• Can read blue prints
• Can use quality tools such as micrometers and calipers
• Able to use the Auto grit blaster
• Able to use the dual scope
• Able to use the manual grit blaster
• Able to use the optical micrometer
• Able to use the racking controls
