The Police Services Support Office of the Police Services Group within the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking an entry-level Associate Business Analyst to work in the Programs Support Team. Work assignments will vary and may include compliance, policies and procedures, multiple program administration and oversight, business continuity with PST, or helping or leading other projects with other teams within Police Services. The work may include research, data collection, data entry, data or trends analysis, and/or reporting, process improvement, change management, information management, policy or procedure documentation, and may include written communications and/or oral presentations to management and/or the broader team or Police Services.

POLICE SERVICES GROUP OVERVIEW

• Police Services' mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for its employees and tenants, while safeguarding the Federal Reserve Bank facilities, operations, and assets. Our Law Enforcement team is our visible team and primarily handles the physical security side of our mission. The Police Services Support Office (PSSO) has responsibilities for group financial and budget processes, staff communications, technology and automation, business continuity, training, compliance, and other administrative roles and programs. The District Business Continuity team focuses on operational resiliency of the Bank and broader emergency preparedness as an organization.

• POSITION OVERVIEW

  + The PSSO is seeking an entry-level associate business analyst. The responsibilities will include research, data collection, entry and analysis, process improvement, change management, information management, program management, and work on a variety of projects and analytical assignments.

  + Applicants will be on projects and assignments that may require:

  + data collection and consolidation to provide evaluations and recommendations;

  + report or business/project documentation creation;

  + data entry and manipulation;

  + compliance reviews;

  + policy or guidance development;

  + and possible training or reference guide development.

  + Applicants should have:

  + proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and,

  + experience preferred collecting, transforming, analyzing, and reporting data.

  + Applicants will need to participate in up to large team meetings and may need to lead meetings or serve as a recorder to garner responses and data.

  + The Bank is currently in a hybrid work posture and the applicant will need to live within a commutable distance to one of our offices for potentially multiple workdays in the office each week. This is a full-time position, primarily working hours on weekdays during normal business hours with some flexibility of schedule to support work/life balance. Some meetings may occasionally need to be outside of normal working hours to best collaborate with our 24/7 operations teams.

What to expect in the Business Analyst | Associate role:

As a Partners in Performance Business Analyst, you'll take what you learned in your Bachelor's, Master's or PhD (preferably in an Engineering discipline) to solve real problems and give your team the analysis they need to turn client problems into lasting sustainable results. Starting on the ground floor doesn't mean staying in the building, either. We are famous for its boots-on-the-ground approach.

So, you can expect to walk and work alongside our clients and spend more time on the front line rather than researching online. Whether it's process improvement, procurement optimization or back-office transformation, you'll help turn recommendations into results.
The nuts and bolts

We're looking for Business Analysts and Associates across North America. You'll need to be a USA or Canadian citizen or have open work authorization in these locations to apply. While we consider candidates from a broad spectrum of degrees, we place a strong emphasis on quantitative skills studied in commerce, engineering, and science-based courses. Our starting point is a distinction average.

A proven ability to work alongside all sorts of people will proved to be invaluable. Working with analytics is like breathing to us, so Excel and general mathematical ability are important. How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Associate Business Analyst, Operations Research provides quantitative expertise (data analysis, statistics, forecasting, simulation, and optimization) in the form of models, consulting, and software prototypes. The analyst must become an expert at sourcing, cleaning, interpreting, and detecting anomalies within data. The analyst will work on a variety of high-visibility IT projects, either in the form of internal development or in conjunction with external vendors. Such roles may include requirements development, design, and testing of decision support systems.

The Associate Business Analyst, Operations Research must actively communicate with the customer (e.g., the partnering business unit) to clearly define needs, report progress, and define an execution plan. Must be able to formally report results in a concise and understandable way. The OR Associate Business Analyst must be able to work independently and drive a task to completion with accuracy, transparency, and urgency.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

+ Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

+ Strong analytical, quantitative, leadership and communication skills are required.

+ Statistical modeling, process evaluation, and/or proven problem-solving skills required.

+ Experience with machine learning required.

+ Proficiency in Excel, SAS or Python, and SQL required.

+ B.S in operations research, mathematics, statistics, transportation science, engineering, (or comparable quantitative field) required.

+ Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
