Calibration Specialist - Mechanical
Follow documented procedures to calibrate, adjust and repair physical, mechanical, and dimensional measuring, and test equipment.

Boeing is seeking a Calibration Specialist A to join our team in Auburn, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
* Plan, check, set up, and operate, basic and advanced Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment.
* Use calibration standards (dimensional, electrical, thermal, and optical) to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair M&TE/process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE /process equipment manufacturer's performance specifications.
* Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results. Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of shop floor equipment, laboratory and test-related problems. Associated Duties and Responsibilities: Route M&TE/process equipment between receiving area, customer, and calibration lab.
* Coordinate with customers to calibrate stationary equipment while limiting machine downtime.
* Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork.
* Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes.
* Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by team lead or manager.
* Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear.
* Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes.

* DEFINITION OF TERMS *Understanding of basic and advanced M&TE and process equipment e.g. Digital meters, probes, scopes, precision hand tools, process tools, surface plates, levels, optics (basic 2 dimensional), items used to measure and record: force, mass, pressure, vacuum, temperature, voltage, and hardness. Understanding of electrical equipment, electronics tuning, and experience with laser interferometry.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position is 100% onsite.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* 1 or more years of experience doing jobs or tasks where you had to apply math skills such as algebra, geometry and/or trigonometry
* 3+ years of experience working with precision measuring tools
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
* 3 to 5 years of calibration experience preferred
* Experience working with 3 dimensional measurement systems
* Experience working with uncertainty budgeting and analysis
* Experience working with interferometry based measuring systems
* Experience troubleshooting and resolving test related problems
* Ability to communicate and work with internal and external customers as needed.
* Metrology experience across electrical, dimensional and mechanical physical disciplines preferred
* AA degree in Metrology, Electronics or formal Metrology training from US Military preferred
