What You Will Do:

Cardiopulmonary Technician: will perform a variety of duties within the Cardiopulmonary Department. These duties include: performing EKG's, assistance with Cardiac Stress Testing, - Places electrodes, maintains records, assists in moving or transporting the patient, takes blood pressure and assists with cleaning up and equipment maintenance as instructed, assists in setup of Pulmonary Function Testing and Cardiac Event Monitors, Holter monitor application/removal, and their coordination with scheduling and results transmission. Restock EKG carts and Stress Testing, clean up equipment following tests as required; train all new staff at VHS/WMH who will perform EKG's on EKG machine, data entry, electrode placement, trouble shooting, test and reporting protocols Ensures availability of supplies and materials for both Respiratory and Cardiac areas per established parameters. The Cardiopulmonary Technician will provide administrative support to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services and to the Supervisor of Cardiopulmonary Services including payroll submissions. Under general supervision and according to established policy and procedures, organizes the front office, correspondence from the department and other typing or word processing. Schedules procedures and interacts with Physician offices and others. Schedules patients for all services in the WMH Cardiopulmonary Department services. Maintains the department's files in an organized and unified manner. Processes all departmental charges and monitors results for accuracy. Greets patients and families in a prompt and professional manner, ensures good customer service rapport with all patients and their Families and is flexible in meeting staff needs

What You Will Bring:

Education

High School Diploma Or equivalent required

Successful completion of EKG, pharmacology, and cardiac rhythm courses within six months of hire required

Certification & Licensures

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required *

ACLS required * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
