University of Kentucky central supply aide job description
Responsible for assembling and processing surgical instrument trays; decontamination of used instruments; answering phone calls; responding to OR requests; and maintaining cleanliness of the department/workstations. This position will also be responsible for delivering and picking up clean and dirty instrumentation throughout hospital while assisting Central Sterile Technicians.
The University of Kentucky considers the health, safety and well-being of our entire community to be a top priority. In alignment with this priority, all new hires must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. For areas that fall under the federal CMS mandate, start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques following the universal standard precautions. Must be able to adhere to UK HealthCare policies, read and follow manufacturer guidelines. Central sterile processing certification required within 18 months of hire.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Previous central sterile experience preferred; current CST certification highly preferred.
