As the premier provider of Space Domain Awareness mission solutions for the United States Space Force, L3Harris is pursuing a strategic partnership to develop and deploy new RADAR functionality. Position represents an exciting opportunity to design new functionality for deep space radars to engage threats in the GEO belt while also tracking new foreign space launches. L3Harris is seeking Radar professionals to work in a dynamic environment to solve challenging technical problems. Individuals will perform radar system software architecture modelling, design, implementation, and test. The ideal candidate should have in depth experience with radar system architectures, and software modeling, development, and design. Knowledge of radar system architectures and the Space Domain Awareness mission areas are a must.

Essential Functions:

Candidate will apply knowledge of command and control (C2) systems, missile defense kill chains and adjacent technologies (e.g. correlation, tracking, discrimination) to investigate enterprise architectures to defeat emerging missile and space threats. Lead and/or contribute to advanced systems engineering architecture studies to counter emerging space and/or missile threats Support Space Domain Awareness, Space Surveillance, Missile Warning, Missile Defense radars Lead and/or contribute to business development pursuits, including authoring white papers, RFI responses, and proposal technical volumes working in concert with large proposal teams consisting of L3Harris and teammate personnel. In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $122,500.00 - $227,500.00 (salary ranges in other locations could differ). Program Chief Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
The CE is the technical conscience of the program, ensuring the system(s), product(s), and service(s) being developed and delivered are viable, fit for purpose, and will satisfy customer needs, product/system requirements, and the mission and/or application. The CE is the primary owner of the technical solution and the technical interface to Program, Engineering, Functional and Executive leadership. Key responsibilities include:
Technical Solution Definition, Viability and Adequacy Leads (system) architecture design and optimization activities, trades and analyses Ensures system design and implementation meet technical requirements and customer/mission needs within allocated engineering cost & schedule Ensures system design is realizable, maintainable, supportable and testable Drives technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation/realization Technical interface to Customer, PMO and executive leadership: Understand requirements, missions, use cases, and constraints Technical risks and issues including impact assessment, mitigation, minimization and closure plans
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.
This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of 12+ Years with BS, 10+ Years with MS, or 8+ Year with PhD Technical leader for significant size team (chief engineer, PEM, FM, or equivalent) Eligible for a Secret US Government security clearance

Axient is seeking a seasoned Chief level Systems Engineer on the Horizon Program to support to the US Space Force (USSF) in developing and deploying next-generation and advanced capability space systems under the Special Programs (SP) Directorate in El Segundo, CA.

The position supports SSC's portfolio of programs designed to gain, maintain and exploit space superiority that includes space launch, global positioning, military space vehicle communications, defense meteorological space vehicles, range systems, space vehicle control networks, space-based infrared systems, and space situational awareness capabilities.
Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

* Perform technical support and independent risk assessment and evaluation of program management execution, technical review execution (DoD 5000.02 framework), and systems engineering.
* Assess program design and viability from a technical, perspective.
* Coordinate Government activities and contractor, sub-contractor, and vendor oversight efforts throughout the system life-cycle.
* Provide technical and acquisition support to Government and contractor milestone reviews to assess progress, issues, and requirements traceability.
* Responsible for day-to-day management of various System and Space Safety Programs.
* Ensure program level documentation is aligned with Directorate and higher headquarters guidance for program planning and execution.
* Develops and evaluates program level documentation for SSC/SP assigned programs in support of Directorate leadership. Must be able to work independently.
* Engages and coordinates with Space Systems Command (SSC) Center Staff, HQ AFSPC, and HQ USAF on behalf of Directorate leadership to resolve documentation issues in line with Directorate commander's intent and priorities.
* Provides leadership advice on: acquisition strategies for next-generation systems; program execution issues and recommendations; strategic messaging to key operational and acquisition government, industry, and media stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant disciplineand 18+ years of related experience (Masters Degree requires 16+ years) in technical program management, systems engineering, and acquisition within the areas of Space, Space Control, and Reconnaissance
* Qualified applicants must possess an active and transferrable TS with SCI eligibility and be willing to consent to a polygraph examination
* DoD security clearance eligibility requires US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in engineering or a related field, Certified Safety Professional or Professional Engineer, 4 or more years of System Safety Engineering PMP certification, INCOSE CSEP, SE Certificates.
* Ideal candidates will have experience providing technical support and managing technical programs throughout the engineering life cycle of operational and/or new start technical demonstration space and ground systems.
