POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE: * Enters data into inmate folders and computer files. * Assigns inmates to floor upon being committed to facility. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Minimum of one year secretarial and/or records management experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Considerable knowledge of modern office procedures, GCIC, NCIC, and CJIS system, and computer system codes for entering and retrieving criminal information data. * Familiarity with jail, department, and County policies and procedures. * Proficiency in file management, dealing with the public, and operating a computer and standard office equipment. * Good communication skills, both oral and written. * Demonstrated ability to work independently. * Typing/Keyboarding (minimum 35 words per minute). Certification: GCIC Certification . Shift Assignment: The detention center operates 24-hours, 7 days a week. These positions are 12-hour night shifts (5:45pm - 6:15am), scheduled off every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some Positions may require: * Train co-workers in use of computer systems. Physical Requirements: Depending upon area of assignment: Positions in this class typically require: walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Work is performed in an office setting. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
