What You'll Do:
As a Survey Crew Chief, you'll be a leader and a key part of our survey field team, responsible for:
Leading Field Operations: Directing a field crew on a variety of projects, including topographic, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, as well as construction stakeouts.
Operating Advanced Equipment: Independently using and troubleshooting modern survey equipment. A strong working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment (e.g., robotic total stations, GPS) and software is required.
Data Integrity and QA/QC: Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all field data, maintaining detailed field notes, and performing on-site quality control.
Team and Project Management: Managing project schedules, coordinating with project managers and clients, and training and mentoring junior crew members.
Problem-Solving: Applying your experience to solve complex field challenges and adapting to changing project conditions.

Qualifications
8+ years' survey crew chief experience;
Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station;
Work requires independent judgment and initiative;
Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying;
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting;
Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction;
Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices;
Familiarity with Column and Bolt-Pattern layout and as-built surveys.
Familiar with detailed Topographic Surveys and ADA Surveys.
Ability to operate motorized equipment;
Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions;
Some travel maybe required;
Valid Driver's License.

Job Duties:
Plans, calculations, and specifications for transportation structures in accordance with AASHTO and INDOT standards.
Collaborate with other professionals from various departments and disciplines in order to discuss project challenges and engineering solutions needed to help our clients deliver their programs.
Perform work as part of a team or as a task manager, in accordance with the project budget and schedule limitations under moderate supervision.

Job Duties:

Collaborate with other professionals from various departments and disciplines in order to discuss project challenges and engineering solutions needed to help our clients deliver their programs.

Prepare scope and fee proposals, Letter-of-Interest proposals, and/or assist other Project Managers with similar duties.

Experience with delivering projects for Local Public Agencies.

Proficiency in CAD, Microstation preferred.
Experience in bridge inspection or desire to participate in bridge inspection services preferred
