Qualifications
Education and Experience: Experience equivalent to one year of full-time labor and trade work including some routine building maintenance work.

Overview
Under immediate supervision, performs unskilled and skilled building maintenance work of routine difficulty; and performs related work as required. An employee in this class assists in a variety of tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and general mechanical repair work. This class differs from that of Building Maintenance Worker 2 in that an incumbent of the latter works under general supervision and performs semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance work.
Responsibilities
* Identifies maintenance issues in order to repair/resolve issues or report issues to someone who can repair/resolve them. Performs repair work using diagrams, drawings, or maintenance manuals.
* Operates and utilizes a variety of tools and equipment such as assorted hand and power tools, plungers, sewer rodders, drills, skill saws, and grinders.
* Dismantles devices such as electrical fixtures, basic plumbing fixtures and/or outlets in order to access, remove and replace defective parts.
* Performs minor HVAC repairs, basic carpentry tasks, routine pluming and electrical tasks, repairs, and painting/decorating. Performs landscaping and janitorial tasks.
* Reviews preventative maintenance plans in order to perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of building does not deteriorate.
* Completes work order request form to log repair work. Completes routine reports of time expended and materials used.
* Communicates with outside vendors and customers to provide basic customer service and direct persons to appropriate solutions and answers.
* May operate state issued pick-up truck, golf cart, watercraft, or other vehicle.

Qualifications:

Experience: Experience in a related position is required. Must be conversant in EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
Certifications: Registered professional certification in the environmental or safety field (e.g., CHMM, CSP, or CIH) is strongly preferred. Prefer Indiana Class D wastewater or willing to acquire within a year.

+ Sees that all products is properly prepared (cutting and trim), handled and/or wrapped and merchandised. + Receives and checks all meat deliveries upon arrival to see that all merchandise is in good condition and that the correct quantities and weights are received.
+ Assists in planning special promotions and displays.
+ Is responsible for signage, correct weights (tare and packaging), and pricing.
+ Sees that all merchandise is rotated according to code dating policy.
+ Is responsible for keeping the cases full.
+ Keeps meat department fixtures, equipment and area clean, sanitized and free from accident hazards at all times.
+ Handles all store property and equipment in such a manner as to secure maximum use.
+ Perform freshness checks and recondition product.
+ Maintains a high level of product knowledge and merchandising ability to accomplish the meat department goals.
+ Maintains courteous and friendly customer relations
Minor duties:
+ Keeps records as requested.
+ Orders meat products as requested.
+ Operate saws, cubers, slicers, scales, grinders, and labeling machines.
+ Provides assistance to customers and employees.
+ Prepare, weigh, package, and price, stock merchandise and rotate product to maximize gross profit.
+ Perform sweeping, cleaning, and mopping functions.
+ Operate telephones and intercoms and practice proper telephone etiquette.
+ Follow all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
+ Be a self-starter.
+ Read and write.
+ Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
+ Give and follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Provide verbal and physical assistance to the customer.
+ Lift and stack up to 100 pounds.
+ Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
+ Reach and stock product up to 6 feet high.
