The primary job of a coal miner is to extract coal from underground and surface mines. Coal miners operate expensive and complex machinery that cuts, drills, shovels, or scrapes coal and earth to collect fuel. They transport coal to the preparation plant to process the raw coal according to the needs of its buyers. Ensuring the safety of the mine is one of their responsibilities.
