Multiple Shifts available! 7am-7:30pm, or 7pm-7:30am; alternating between a 3 & 4-day work week – but always paid for 40 hours! Overtime available as well! (See below for exact days/times)

Main Responsibilities

• Runs coating tower
• Cleans up the department to maintain the area

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain a lift truck certification
• Ability to read and comprehend work instruction in English
• Ability to use basic math functions to measure and interpret graphs

MULTIPLE SHIFT OPTIONS:

Group A ($18.00/hour)

7am-7:30p

Alternates between Sun-Tues (3 days) / Sun-Wed (4 days)

Wednesdays are the rotation day, every other week

• Reads and understands work orders to determine custom product requirements.
• Sets up and prepares material for processing.
• Monitors and adjusts coating line during operation.
• Reviews and accurately completes all process-related paperwork, and inputs production data into ERP system.
• Demonstrates to and observes new employees on daily jobs, paperwork, and computer work. Provides training as needed to other employees.
• Performs basic machine maintenance and PM's.
• Operates one (1) or more stations, unit operations, of a coating line.
• Maintain equipment and cleans work areas.
• Abides to "Specific Hazardous Waste Responsibilities" description maintained by Quality Engineer and/or lab personnel on an as needed basis.
• Supports other departmental activities.
• Performs any other activity as required by Management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Must be able to use various measuring tools such as scales, rulers, graduated cylinder, and other laboratory devices.
• Proficient math skills including the Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Physical demands include; regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear and climb a ladder with great heights. The employee is frequently required to; use hands to touch, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

RESPONSIBILITY

This position has responsibility for fostering a safe work environment by demonstrating integrity, trust and ethical conduct at all times.

EducAtion/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• 1-year manufacturing experience -preferred experience in operation of various machines consisting of lamination, webbing, netting or weaving.

We are currently seeking a full-time Coating Machine Operator for our Ultra Optics Division located in Brooklyn Park, MN. Ultra Optics is the industry leader in premier quality coatings and the equipment used to apply scratch-resistant coating to ophthalmic lenses. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team!

Operate equipment to apply coating to materials per customer specifications. Perform detailed inspection of product to assure high degree of quality and adhere to customer's specifications. Package finished goods per standard or customer request .
Duties :

+ Perform incoming inspection of materials to be coated.

+ Perform equipment operations, including equipment adjustments, in accordance with industry and/or customer specifications.

+ Perform final inspection, counting and sorting of each piece in addition to bagging and/or boxing of product, if needed.

+ Perform routine clean-up and maintenance on all the equipment.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications :

+ High school diploma, GED or equivalent and relevant work experience commensurate with position requirements.

+ Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

+ Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision.
