Mt. Sierra College (MSC) was established in 1990 and is located in Monrovia, California. The college confers bachelors degrees in media arts, business and information technology to students on campus or online. Applications to MSC are accepted year-round, and students can start at the beginning of any quarter. Sierra College also offers students the opportunity for an accelerated track in which students can earn their bachelors degrees in just three years (the length pertains to graduating in normal time). Although degrees are offered in three main categories, students sure of their career paths can choose to specialize in a more focused major. Class sizes are small kept small to help foster the mentored learning approach in which each student receives individual attention. Students may also take advantage of the college's tutoring and other academic support services. The curriculum at MSC incorporates academic theory with hands-on practice so that students graduate with a well-rounded education that can lead to a job or graduate study. An emphasis is placed on graduating students with excellent problem solving and goal-oriented skills by developing their critical thinking and professionalism. The college is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for students to take advantage of such as their iMac student stations that are loaded with professional hardware and software. Beyond academics, students are able to take advantage of student activities, professional workshops and community service opportunities. MSC understands that some students need additional assistance in order to afford the cost of tuition. Students who qualify for financial aid can apply to federal and state student loan programs. The Career Development Department is an important part of the Mt. Sierra College experience, as the staff is dedicated to assisting in each student's job search. There are many ways in which the department helps students including helping to prepare for interviews, developing resume writing skills and, most importantly, locating open positions for graduates to fill. Many students and alumni turn to the Career Development Department for internship and job placement opportunities. Azusa Pacific University, one of the largest Christian universities in the nation today, began on March 3, 1899, when a group of men and women passionate about creating a place for Christian education gathered to form the Training School for Christian Workers. It became the first Bible college on the West Coast geared toward preparing men and women for ministry and service. Meeting in a modest home in Whittier, California, and led by President Mary A.
