Key Responsibilities:
Determine appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machines for optimized machining approaches to complex, multi-axis milling production of rotating blades and stationary vanes components.
Complete the development and implementation of manufacturing CNC programs for complex machining processes for multi-axis milling machines.
Support in the development of Manufacturing Quality Control Plans / Part Inspection Plans.
Support shop machinists to successfully execute manufacturing processes and complex machining activities.
Assist and provide direction for design and development of fixturing for machining processes.
Design specialty cutting tools for precision form milling.
Collaborate with management, product engineering, peer engineers, and operators to realize high quality, stable processes for complex, conventional machining production of rotating blades and stationary vanes components.
Project leadership of development and qualification projects (scheduling, design of experiments, experimentation, reporting, documentation) with full responsibility for due dates, results and costs associated with your field of activities.
Review in process product quality control information (manual and CMM dimension checks) and work with production personnel to adjust production run machining processes.
Work with production personnel to implement, troubleshoot, and improve machining and associated processes.
Collaborate with Quality Engineer to conduct Root Cause Corrective Analyses.
Communicate with customers to understand requirements and communicate process deviations (NCRs).
Lead continuous process improvements (analysis, solution finding, implementation) around machining processes and methods. Perform and assess manufacturing data to determine opportunities for improvement and lead teams to successfully implement changes.
Support quoting efforts by providing cost estimates.
Review tooling inventory and adjust stocking levels based on production run usage.
Lead and support CAPEX projects and ROI calculations.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
2-4 year degree in related Engineering discipline.
5+ years relevant and proven 4- or 5-axis milling manufacturing experience.
Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and specifications.
Skilled in the use of Siemens NX & Teamcenter CAD/CAM systems and product data management systems.
Knowledgeable in 4- and 5-axis milling machining processes.
Knowledgeable in programming, online and offline, of conventional milling machines.
Expert Knowledge in parametric model definition tools of NX and assembly modeling with interpart linking.
Knowledge in designing component fixtures related to milling machining processes.
Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications.
Working knowledge of MS office (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

What You Bring

We are seeking a skilled and versatile individual to join our team as CNC Machinist. This position plays a key role in supporting both production and engineering by machining a wide range of materials, including plastics and various metals, to produce high-quality production parts, tooling, and fixtures. This position reports to the Value Stream Leader. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Load and unload parts to and from machines, jigs, or fixtures while checking castings or components for flaws or discrepancies in raw materials or from prior operations.
Must complete in-process inspection on components being produced, along with necessary SPC charting to document continuous process control.
Completion of production records such as recap cards and pan tickets. This includes use of gages and precision measuring equipment.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup Repair/Rebuild Customer Product returns.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized work area.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.
3+ years of experience in CNC and manual machining.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and material properties, including G-code and M-code, and basic edits.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a technical school or apprenticeship program.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in a machining environment.
