Job Description
Able to set-up and program a Studer or Kellenberger CNC grinder using MasterCam software
Adapt standard tooling, mount cutting tools, set feeds and speeds, and make necessary adjustments.
Perform heat treating, finishing, grinding, honing, brazing, and mechanical assembly operations as required.
Provide work direction and assist with machine set-up for junior machinists.
Troubleshoot and repair grinding equipment to support quality requirements and production demand.
Train other employees in bearing component development, manufacturing, and assembly.
Perform rework and repair single parts or complete assemblies
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
4 years of concentrated machinist training.

Position:
We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist at our Longmont, CO location.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Reads and understands blueprint, job routings, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions such as type of holding fixtures, cutting speeds, feed rates, and cutting tools to be used.
Follows established fabrication procedures and standards.
Gives feedback on programming or setup changes.
Load and set tools while understanding run-out, tool length stick-outs, and proper hold based on what the tool is doing.
Positions and secures tools in tool holders on turret and cross slides.
Load and execute programs.
Recognize, understand and properly adjust dull or chipped tooling.
Set and adjust work offsets, tool wear lengths, and comp cutter.
Indexes turret and adjusts work shift offsets of tools at each station.
Perform Quality Control Characteristics documentation of tolerance zones specified on blueprints.
Set up and operate machine tools including 4-axis and 5-axis machines
Set up and operate machine tools and machines, make fixtures, and assemble fixtures for experimental purposes.
Modify tools as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience & Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma plus 1-3 years of experience in a machine shop environment is required. However, a combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration
Must possess an understanding of basic machine implements- keys, threads, bearing fit and bushings as well as basic geometry.
Applicants must be able to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, calipers, gauge pins, and indicators.
Possess an understanding of G and M codes, machine and fixturing set-up, canned cycles, and work offset coordinate system
Ability to read and understand prints and tolerances.

Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining and be proficient in operating various types of machinery.
This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints effectively.
As a Manual Machinist, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components that meet our stringent specifications.
Consideration Requirements:
Must pass a drug screening and background check
A Valid driver's license is required
A High school diploma or a GED is required
Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience operating manual lathes, mills, and other conventional machine tools.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
Strong knowledge of metal properties, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling selection.
Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometer, calipers, dial indicators, gauges).
Familiarity with tolerances, surface finishes, and quality control standards.
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot machining issues with minimal supervision.
Solid understanding of shop math and mechanical principles.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Be able to read, write, and speak English
Willingness to perform any task required.
Preferred Skills:
Welding, fabrication, and design experience or certifications
Strong understanding of machining techniques, cutting tools, and a variety of materials.
Experience operating CNC machines.
Familiarity with CAD or CAM software
Forklift operation experience or certification
Awareness of safe rigging practices, crane operation, and working with suspended loads is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
Able to continuously perform basic physical movements such as bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and grabbing.
Daily Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine machining requirements.
Accurately measure and inspect finished components using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools, machine settings, and workholding fixtures based on job requirements.
Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is calibrated correctly and functioning properly.
Monitor operations and make real-time adjustments to optimize productivity while maintaining high-quality output.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues as needed.
Strictly follow all safety protocols and procedures while operating machinery and handling tools.
Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to meet deadlines and production goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Any other job related, support activity duties as required.
