Work with production personnel to implement, troubleshoot, and improve machining and associated processes.
Collaborate with Quality Engineer to conduct Root Cause Corrective Analyses.
Communicate with customers to understand requirements and communicate process deviations (NCRs).
Lead continuous process improvements (analysis, solution finding, implementation) around machining processes and methods. Perform and assess manufacturing data to determine opportunities for improvement and lead teams to successfully implement changes.
Support quoting efforts by providing cost estimates.
Review tooling inventory and adjust stocking levels based on production run usage.
Lead and support CAPEX projects and ROI calculations.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
2-4 year degree in related Engineering discipline.
5+ years relevant and proven 4- or 5-axis milling manufacturing experience.
Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings and specifications.
Skilled in the use of Siemens NX & Teamcenter CAD/CAM systems and product data management systems.
Knowledgeable in 4- and 5-axis milling machining processes.
Knowledgeable in programming, online and offline, of conventional milling machines.
Expert Knowledge in parametric model definition tools of NX and assembly modeling with interpart linking.

This includes the ability to adjust furnace temperature and/or belt speed.* To know and follow procedures applicable to this job classification.* Legibly record and maintain applicable product/process information.* Effectively utilize measuring equipment and information obtained from its use to ensure the continuation of control conditions.* May be assigned to fill in and direct the department in the absence of the supervisory force and assist at other times.* Provide active input to continuous process improvement.* Effectively communicate job related information to co-workers, supervisors, and others with a need to know.* Maintain cooperative relationships with other functional areas.

Fabricates various die parts, sections, inserts, punches, etc.
Disassembles as required, grind using special fixtures and holding devices, reassemble; replaces punches, stripper springs, stops, inserts, etc
Maintains inventory of most commonly used parts, tools, materials, and items
Informs supervisor of low inventories. Help maintain maintenance records for dies
Helps with compliance to work standards, specifications, and prints
Detects and reports defective and unsafe equipment and material as well as unusual situations to supervisor
Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices, and procedures. Wear and employ personal protective equipment as required
Practice 5S and maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner

The Manual Machinist performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Read and interpret blueprints
Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, manual milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, band saw, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment
Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal.
Properly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling
Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
