Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree with 3 years of CNC machining experience, or an Apprentice Graduate in a machining-related program with 3 years of CNC machining experience
3+ years of experience with graphical-based CAM software creating 3- and 4-axis CNC programs
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Machine Tool Technology
3+ years of experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using a CAM system (preferably NX)
Experience using Vericut or other CNC verification/machine simulation software
General Requirements:
Proficiency in programming multiple types of CNC machines, including Haas, Okuma, and Fanuc controls
Hands-on machine setup experience
Knowledge of machining high-temperature alloys used in gas turbines
Experience with high-level machine tool controls, including sub-routine (macro), probing, variable-based programming, and CLM (closed-loop machining)
Knowledge of post-processor development and debugging, preferably UG Post Builder
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Above-average shop math skills in geometry and trigonometry
Ability to interpret and apply drawing requirements effectively
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of organization
Self-motivated with strong project leadership skills
Essential Functions:
Generate and maintain CNC programs using NX-CAM or other software, including multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, and EDM
Verify new CNC programs before release using Vericut
Provide CNC-related support to Manufacturing Engineers and train operators during new machine startups or process improvements
Troubleshoot and provide daily operator support in CNC programming on the shop floor
Implement tooling and fixturing requirements for CNC machine tools
Create and maintain workstation instructions related to CNC processes
Lead process improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, cost, and delivery
Drive the implementation and expansion of CNC/CAM technology
Collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Train other CNC programmers as needed

2. Converts designs and drawings into code programming language for CNC equipment. Validates programs to established specifications.
3. Determines dimensions and tolerances of piece to be machined, sequence of operations and machines needed by studying specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, damaged parts or descriptions of parts.
4. Inspects parts, tooling, and material to specifications.
5. Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in safe, clean and satisfactory operating condition.
6. Monitors work to ensure that machine is functioning properly.
7. Works from draft drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts as well as for tooling or prototype equipment.
8. Identify production standards for set-up and machine times
**EXPERIENCE**
1. Minimum of 5 years machining experience including ability to set-up / operate preferred. Strong knowledge of machining, machining practices, tooling, drafting, CNC machines, controls, programming, measuring equipment and techniques.
2. Ability to program CNC lathes and VMC machines
3. Ability to troubleshoot CNC operating/programming issues.

Must be able to setup and operate one or more manufacturing machines, including a CNC lathe, mill drill, grinding machine, CNC mill machine and deburring.
Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand 6 to 8 hours a day. Must be able to work with their hands, arms and be extremely accurate. Must be able to walk and sit on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high-speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Job Description
Sets up and operates various machines as required to produce a finished product. Examines blueprints, drawings and work orders to determine size and shape to specifications. Inspects and verifies material to customer order for accuracy. Must maintain production and quality standards. Must conform to all safety rules. Must maintain documentation as required. Performs other duties assigned by supervisor.
Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
Occasionally will pull material and stage at operation.
Operates CNC and other fabrication machines as needed.
Performs set ups as necessary.
Detect machine malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
Coordinate jobs according to priorities.
Inspects and checks parts to maintain product quality.
Verifies quantity and size of fabricated items using various measuring devices.
Visually inspects products for conformance to specifications.
Follows all safety rules.
Responsible for keeping work area and equipment clean, and orderly and free from clutter.
Performs routine machinery preventive maintenance as needed.
Completes paperwork and documentation as required.
Fabricates metal to specified dimensions.
Minimum Job Requirements (but not limited to):
Legible handwriting
Achieve a minimum test score on math and blueprint reading.
Ability to follow written instructions accurately.
Ability to use measuring instruments and gauges proficiently and accurately.
Ability to work well with other people and demonstrate a team player behavior.
Must possess and demonstrate good written and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
Must maintain "meets expectation" attendance, safety and job performance evaluations.
This job requires walking, standing, stooping and bending 100% of the time.
Education and Experience
At least 1 year of CNC machining experience and/or a technical related degree or a combination of education and experience.
